Anyone know anything about these? I couldn't find anything useful via an internet search. There are no markings on it and it's in excellent condition so I really can't determine it's age.
Here's a picture of it in a Marlin 45 just for fun.
Have never seen one til today! I have come across some 15 and 20 rounders at various gun shows but never a 40 round mag! I can only imagine what it would be like trying to stuff all of those rounds into it! And unless you dug a hole first you can forget going prone with that mag in your gun!
I never knew anyone who actually had one. But I wish someone would bring back a .45 carbine like the Ruger. Interchangeable mag wells for whatever mag pattern you wan would be a big seller.
I have never seen a high capacity 1911 stick magazine for 45 ACP that worked for more than a few rounds before jamming. , I guess there is always the first time but I would have to see it to believe it.
I remember that sort of thing from the '70s. Mostly in twenty and thirty round capacity. Before the wonder nines were popular and Jeff Cooper was the High King of defensive shooting. I think Triple K made some of them and others were made by cottage industry accessory makers.
They were hard to load for the last two-thirds of the magazine and they were worthless on a defensive pistol. I never had one.
