I own a Henry pump action .22 and I have shot it exactly 500 times. I had read somewhere that it takes about 500 shots to break in the action.
The action is definely getting smoother and now I am planning to better adjust the open sights. I was hitting the target when I fired the first shot.
I really like the look of the rifle - it seems to be very well made - and sometimes I like to get it out just to look at it - I really like the feel of it too.

Didn't DPris here do a 25,000 round test on one of these and it did really well?

Yes he did, and I actually purchased that issue of the magazine it was published in (Gun of the West, or some name like that). They also tested a brass receiver Henry 45-70 in the same issue that did well. Henry seems to make some fine rifles. I own two Marlins, but Henry's are starting to look awfully attractive...

Have a Henry Big Boy in 44 Magnum. Best shooting gun I own. The Golden Boy in 22LR I'll bet is just as good.

No- he did a 28,000-round GB test.
After which he bought the gun. Not even close to being worn out, just replaced the extractor & the locking block spring.

Got a no frills 22 Henry as my first rifle. Sights wouldn't adjust enough to get a good zero so just got used to centering the taget under the front sight's hood. Still the only gun that gets brought out to the range every time.

If you contact Henry I'm sure they'll sort it out.
My kid's youth model was having a problem with nose diving rounds. They sent a call tag, I sent it back, they replaced a bunch of parts, and they sent it back to me, in proper working order. No drama.

I really should. Been shooting it so long as is I honestly forget that it is not supposed to be that way. Going to a men's retreat this weekend and plan to do some plinking so it will have to wait.

Few years ago I bought a Marlin bolt action with a tubular magazine because I wanted a .22 with a tubular magazine and guess what? It's not accurate at all, 2 inches at 50 yards whether it's CCI Standard or Eley match ammo. The stock is plastic, the bolt feels clunky, but the trigger is nice.

If I could go back in time, I would have bought a Henry .22 instead. Most likely it would be more accurate and for the extra money you get a hell of a rifle that has wood and a nice lever.

I have three Henry levers in the safe, a .22 mag, a regular lever .22 LR and a youth .22. All have been a lot of fun to shoot, very accurate and the actions have been 100% reliable.

I’m sold on Henrys!

Stay safe!

Love it, mine is the old boring round barrel, now I wish it was like yours.
You should be pleased with the accuracy, mine does cci well.

Congrats on the purchase
Had mine for couple years now, Till this day I'm still amazed on how smooth the action is...and surprisingly accurate
