I live in LI NY the maximum distance here is 200 yards , in your neck of the woods I would think ranges would go longer then 300 , could you shoot on state land . I remember back in the 70's I would go upstate ( Kingston ) there was a area off one of the roads , you could pull the car over off the road , it looked like a open area where the people from the area would sight in their firearms . You shot off 4 bidg bolders . Not a real range as we no of but a fun place to shoot . You shot at anything you put up jugs , targets , spoons , balloons , anything . Can't do that anymore .
