EA7D0677-21C8-4581-AEDC-B88770666E54.jpeg Just got this 10-6 shooter last week from LGS at a great price. Old and experienced, but smooth action. And the ugliest grips I’ve ever seen!

View attachment 817733 this interesting prewar snub came home with me last month.
I love the older snubbies, but they seem to be related to hens teeth around here. Even seeing a newer K frame snubbie is pretty rare.

As much as I like the "as new" guns too, the guns that show use, have character, and like your old hound, just beg to along with you, every time you go out blasting. :)

im confused by the pic.

I wanted a pre-lock security trade-in Model 10 -- but when I went "dumpster-diving" some years ago at a LGS (no longer in business) that was selling them for a good price, the one I found in the best condition was this 10-14 lock model.

I added the Pachmayr grips; it came with the stock wood grips.

The Model 10 makes a perfect nightstand piece... :) Model 10_resized.jpg

My first real gun was a Model 10 from the Royal Hong Kong Police, purchased at a flea market in 1996, I think it was. I learned to shoot with this gun (mostly having shot only bb-guns and the like before that), and took my CCW test with it. I gave it to my father as a house gun in 2008. I hope to find a round-butt snub nose Model 10 one day at a price I can afford, but I have a square-butt one and one with a heavy four-inch barrel currently.

Drilled and tapped for 6-32 screws...but the 6-32 screws I have are too short so I’m ordering more. Here’s the mockup. I’m 2 screws and a bedding job away from being done, but I am loving where it’s going.

It recently occurred to me that I had a bunch (7 , 8?) of K frames , but not one example of the staple of that frame , a model 10. I fixed that omission by finding this dash 5 on Gunbroker. It was in an evidence lock-up of a P.D. in Oklahoma , seized from a drug dealer. Blotches of surface rust suggested a one time free moisture exposure , looked like it would clean up well - as it did. Case hardening colors are sharp , screws untouched. One of the best stock triggers I own - and all for $233.

S&W Military & Police 38 or the Model 10 are some of the finest revolvers for 38SPL. Last year ('17) I found a 10-5 two inch square butt that had lived in someones 'unmentionables' closet for 50 years. no turn line, a couple of freckles on the cylinder from sitting in the box.
Smoothest DA trigger going.

I remember seeing those Pachmayr camo grips when they first came out and thought the same thing you did: those have got to be the ugliest looking grips I have ever seen!

Evan - $350 for that one is - what ... a really good deal!
Here's the well worn question - given that one does not see clean nickel 10's lying about very often , and that one is exceptionally nice ; do you shoot it or is it the wife of the Safe King?

The CamoPacs on an otherwise nicely worn heavy barrelled model 10 in post #26 - no offense sir , but I've never seen uglier grips. Wow.

I shoot everything I collect. It's not going to be carried or anything but it is going to be enjoyed

EA8678EC-6946-4616-AA01-28E16F13E73B.jpeg Here’s my contribution. 10-5 Square Butt, 10-7 Round Butt and the 3” is a No Dash 4 Screw that was Special Ordered by a Sheriff in 1960 who supposedly was a real Bad Ass. Story told to me by previous owner is the Sheriff was involved in several shoot-outs. Was this gun involved? Is any of the story true? Who cares. I bought the gun not the story, but it does have a lot of honest character. Action is real smooth and a hoot to shoot!
