I was looking to sell, what are referred to as monkey guns. it was made in belgium around 1920 judging by the proof marks on it. the ram rod looks original. the but stock is carved and looks like a water buffalo with green eyes, it has a patch box to. bore is 410, barrel is hexagon to the forend.

the lock is in good shape and is in the white from what i have seen that's how they came. has sling studs and swivels. the lop is normal around 14''. from what i could find these guns were used by the natives in south america for the feather trade. any info or estimated value would be helpful thanks. troy.

Back when I was a young man 50 or so years ago those were commonly available in gun literature for 12.95 to 19.95. I bought a couple in those days. Quality was as poor as you could get and still function which they did for awhile. In recent years have seen them at gunshows priced from 50.00 to 250.00.
