coating

there are different types out there now.part of what we do in law enforcement restorations of 870's is coatings.out of all that are out there,dura-coat is the weakest as to wear, scratches and durability.we do it per request.phenolic resign coating is one of the most durable if done corectly, most companies do not apply it as ment by the maker,we have been using it for over 10 years with the intended result.we also do custom colors with it.a new one is out,we will be testing soon,it is a sprayable cyramic.my 1911 gets it first so i will be able to give some test information.we coated for most of the ones out there now,in partnership and helped work out the bugs with the phenolic resign.its about 3 mills thick,so parts interferance is minimal.if you want more information, let me know,i will see what i can dig up.

Wil919,

I have seen the ceramic(sp) coating. I have a friend who is doing ceramic coatings and has it on his Sig inside and out. You can clean it with water and compressed air. Very inpressive. Several colors are available as well.

Have known and used the services of these folks for some time now, and I will give them the good housekeeping seal of approval. Great service and a nice finished product. As an afterthought, they are friendly too.

Some great ideas on finishes and their durability. Also colors and patterns available................GO HERE
