Hornady ultrasonic cleaner

I have a RCBS ultrasonic cleaner that I use often to clean brass & parts. It is best suited for water based cleaners or denser, but does not work well with petroleum based solvents. The frequency is not correct for the thinner solvents. If you are thinking of using it for silencer cleaning I have read on at least one silencer manufacture site that ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended. For cleaning bolt assemblies from auto rifles it is awesome. What NFA item are referencing in you quarry.

I have one that looks exactly like it, but has a different brand name. I use it for cleaning all sorts of things. Mostly parts with degreaser. It works to clean brass as well.

I have the 2-liter Hornady cleaner. I exclusively use the Hornady solutions for cleaning brass and other metal parts (there are two different solutions, one for each type of metal, and they are ridiculously inexpensive, because the dilutions are 40 to 1). My only "complaint" is that the built-in heater is not strong enough to heat a solution up from room temp. So I pre-heat the solutions in a microwave, then use the cleaner's heater to maintain the temp. All in all, I love the cleaner. So MUCH better than a tumbler since it cleans the primer pockets, too.
By the way, what is this subject doing in this sub-forum?

I have the magnum one that holds over a half gallon of liquid, and miracle worker it's not. It can get some loose stuff off, but you'll spend just as much time scrubbing too, and that still won't get it all. Easiest way may be a soda blaster. The Hornady with the right solution is decent at cleaning brass though; however, I think a wet tumbler would be much more efficient.

I have the Hornady as well, similar experience as yours. It cleans brass ok-ish. I haven't used it on my .22 can because US cleaners are known to remove surface coatings on cans. The dip is my go to for cleaning SS baffles, I honestly haven't touched my US cleaner in a few years.

Yep, after I get a wet tumbler sometime this year I doubt my ultrasonic will get much use.
