Monarch
primmers are soft, i found out with ammo it pushes right threw them causing all that smoke issue red army standard are hard and i had one light strike then a fail to extract then 2 feeding issues from the mag i fixed the mag and shim up the extractor spring to make the extractor firmer, photo link of primmers below

I would have to look it up but just send your bolt to a certain gun shop in Texas and he will install a new firing pin with a return spring and polish the bolt. All 4 of my SKS's have received that treatment with excellent results.
I think it is Murray's or Murphy's, something on that order.

Also the word you wanted is "through."

I have a Murray's pin installed because I actually am set up to reload 7.62x39 and wanted to use std. primers instead of the harder military ones. Biggest problem can be disassembly of the bolt as the old cosmolene dried into a glue can be an issue. I had already done a detailed strip and clean before installation so it was not a big issue as this crud in the firing pin channel can lead to the firing pin stuck in firing position and thus mag dump.

If you want, Murray's will install it for you.

Looking at your video and picture of brass ,My opinion is that Monarch ammo is way over pressure. You even commented on difference in recoil. The out of focus brass picture appears to show the monarch primer completely flattened around the edge.

If you are feeling lucky and have a chronograph I would like to know the velocity of the red army vs monarch ammo.

Have you tried hand seating primers with the Monarchs? I don’t know about pressure issues even with the primers flattened; they almost look like they were soft enough to flow outward after gas escaped. Almost surprised they didn’t pop right out. I’d hand prime and see what they feel like, and you could always pull down any remaining, weigh the charge, and reload them with different primers. Definitely measure protrusion of the pin for your own records but not sure that’s your problem just yet.

I don’t shoot any of this stuff but I know military primers can be harder so spring replacement would be my suggestion for the Red Army ammo.
