I have had cataract surgery in both eyes.

L about 15 years, R about 10 years.

I was very pleased as the adjustments were not difficult. The issue is...

...after cataract surgery you are more likely to experience a detached retina. Talk to your Opthamologist about it because it has greatly effected my fine vision issues.

I am having a difficult time with iron rifle sights now!

Good luck!

I must not have been clear Entropy. By eye strain I meant it was work to see/see clearly and it felt like my eyes were tired/stressed before the surgery. I don't feel that after the surgery.
I know exactly what you meant. We will try to reshape the cornea (which changes the total dioptric power of the eye) by creating pressure on it to create some of the accomodation we lost when the crystalline lens was unable to focus due to the cataract. It's an almost unconscious effort, but it causes that 'eye strain'. By the time you got IOL implants you had been doing it without thinking about sometimes, and sometimes with deliberate effort for some years. There's not much need for it anymore after your surgery. That's a good thing, a very good thing indeed.
