I will eventually have time to work up a good load for hunting whitetail with a 10mm Contender Carbine. However, with the season coming up quickly, I wont have time to hand load so I will have to use a factory round for this year. Do any of you have any recommendations for store bought rounds for whitetail hunting?

I would buy something with a good quality 180 gr or 200 gr JHP bullet. Buffalo Bore and Double Tap are always good choices for 10mm Auto ammunition.

My personal 10mm Auto hunting load is a Hornady 200gr XTP going 1250fps from my S&W 610.

I’ve taken lots of big mule deer with Underwood ammos 155gr xtp loading. Before underwood ammo, Hornady factory 155gr xtp worked just fine.

Thanks all. I sighted the gun in with personal defense rounds because that was all I had at the time. Local sporting goods store closed and will need to find a place to buy some good ammo.
