I scoured the web hoping to locate data on this pistol. Certainly lots of threads on these sat ngt specials of the past. I found none that matched my model. Mine is a hammerless 5 shot 32 cal with a 5-6" barrel, leaf spring, bluing finish. Ser no. B34787.

Looking through W.E. Goforth's book, yours appears to be a third model "Safety Hammerless." The s/n dates it to 1911. One oddity I see... you say "leaf spring"... the hammer spring should be a coil. BTW the grips were the optional "western walnut." May I add also that unless the rather dark lighting in your photo is misleading, yours looks to be in unusually nice condition apart from the missing front sight.

This pistol bluing is in really good shape. Some wearing near where the sites are mounted. Some small scratches i believe from the brass button on the holster.
Really hard pull on trigger. My comment on the spring is based on a leaf spring mounted in the handle behind the walnut grip.

Interesting. Great info. The bluing finish is remarkable given its age. Hopefully attached photos work better for those interested.
I am thinking of selling this piece to fund a modern sidearm

One if these days, I have to get an Iver Johnson.
I had a Great Uncle who went by the name of Iver Johnson.
When the family came over from Norway most of 'em went by Bjugan.
But Iver went by the standard of being the father's son - or John's son
therefore he was a Johnson.

Oh, and scroll work.
What a gorgeous lookin' piece.
