Hello folks,
I recently came across an old Spanish revolver, guy gave it to me when I showed some interest. Long story short, the hammer is broken in half. Making a new one is rather complicated, but possible. What I'm thinking of doing it is simply welding it, but I'm reluctant as I'm not sure whether or not it'll work. I'm asking for Y'alls advice as to how you would fix this.

For those curios, It's a double action one 32 S&W Long revolver. comes straight from Eibar, Spain. Can't much make out the manufacturers name.

You might be able to find a S&W hammer at Numrich to see if it's close enough. I've gotten some oddball parts that way. I don't know enough about welding to say anything about that.

Is it a small frame, like the S&W I-frames, or more like a K frame? I'd be delighted to see a photo of it, if you could.

It all depends on where it's broken at. Welding can cause the parts to warp, effect heat treating, A person with a Laser welder could minimize the heat needed and make the heat effect zone a lot smaller. Using a TIG welder is what most have which is doable, you will have some cleanup. To what degree depends on the break and welder.
