Looking for some 243 ai loads using 60-90 grain bullets. Will be using it for prarie dogs and targets. Rifle is custom Rem 700 built by the late Lee Six. Has heavy 26 inch ss barrel with 1/12 twist. I haven't been successful in finding loads that are accurate as I feel this rifle should be.
If anyone has any favorite loads they want to share it would be much appreciated.

My .243 Ackleys have 8 and 9-1/8 twists. The 12 twist will limit you to lighter bullets, say 60-75 grain ... maybe 80. As Troy says, start with a maximum .243 load and work up.
The only heavy bullets I'd even contemplate would be 85 gr Sierra flat based varminters, I'd bet the heavy flat based tipped varmageddons would do the trick as well, that 12 twist won't gain you favors for b.c. check jbm bullet length and stability out, good luck sir!

I doubt you will be able to run 90 gr bullets with a 1-12. My 240 Wby does it's best with a 65-95 flat base bullet and it's a 1-10 twist.
I found best velocity and accuracy with w760 and a 65vmax.
If I were you, I'd start with a slightly faster powder and a shorter bullet.
