can anyone date my Model 70 Beretta?
Made in Italy, serial #

On the right side of the frame will be a set of proofs, look in front of the trigger guard. One of those stamps will be a set of letters, the letters indicate the date made.

You have a pic of the area, looks like it could be XXIV which would be 1968. Can't make it out fully.

(to the tune of "Cat Scratch Fever?)
The Beretta era of cross bolt safety and the huge mag release button did not last long - but what a distinctive set of controls!

High school flashback!
Yeah those controls are interesting; after
500+ years Beretta still managed to mix and match.

The Beretta era of cross bolt safety and the huge mag release button did not last long - but what a distinctive set of controls!
And interestingly the cross bolt safety is a swipe down action to set to "Fire" mode. It always takes me a day at the range to adjust to it again but surprisingly it really does become second nature.
 
I’ve got the same gun but with brown plastic grips. I love full size .32 pistols!

The gun fits really nice in a P64 flap holster.
