Yes, a beautiful Glock

They make these and then do not make a big deal about them, which is nice.
They used to have a 19 in Blue and Gold as a Navy tribute; and an USMC version in Red and Gold which was pretty dramatic.
That display is decidedly cool. Not entirely to my taste, but cool.

I like the way Kahr did the "Thin Blue Line". With a nice single blue line going down the slide.

Meh.

It's a painted Block...err..."Glock".

Neat, to be sure. And such art work may still be very appealing.

But underneath it all is still an ugly, blocky Glock.

That said...I'll say again that, by any objective measure, a Glock is functionally a fine weapon which has more than proven itself.

But subjectively, it's personally an ugly gun and I don't see the point in owning a gun I consider ugly. No matter how much lipstick one puts on it.

Double meh. It fits the old saying "lipstick on a pig" IMO. I'm not saying that Glocks are junk, just that they are really high on the ugly scale, say an eight out of a possible ten.

I'm not much for dressing up a gun but what I like about the Glock in the OP is that under it all, is a Glock:D

Now the Sig looks fair but the only problem I have with it is under it all, is a Sig:neener:

Saw this and even though I am not a total Glock fan, I fell in love with the gun. Maybe it is the message that makes it beautiful.
Regardless, I have a couple of EDC guns in the shop now to have Coated with similar.

Proof positive that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I personally prefer the message of freedom/liberty/equality represented by the flag in its original color scheme, but I wouldn’t buy a gun with that treatment either.

Please let's not make this a Glock vs this or that. Try to remember the message and support.

I would rather donate $$ than purchase any of those atrocious things.

Didnt see % of what they were donating from your screen grab.. orrrrrr are they just attempting to cash in?

Back as far as 2012 we can see just some numbers. But if you do not like the guns that show support, then I doubt anyone would mind your Donation. And I thank you ahead of time.
If you feel Glock and other manufactuers that are donating to Fallen Police and first responders and their families is a bogus scam than that is your right to do so.

Glock Inc. today donated $50,000 to the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) at a ceremony at the company’s booth at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference in San Diego. This marks the sixth consecutive year that GLOCK has donated to C.O.P.S., bringing total GLOCK contributions to the organization to $300,000.

Each year, nearly 160 officers are killed in the line of duty across the country. Their families, friends and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. C.O.P.S. provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. The nonprofit organization supports families with scholarships, child and teen camps, counseling and programs designed for spouses and parents, and support for the department in which the fallen officer served.

Glock National Sales Manager, Bob Radecki, presented the check to the organization. “Police officers across the country put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve their community. Glock recognizes that valiant dedication and is proud to support police officers and their loved ones,” said Radecki. “The C.O.P.S. organization is a class-act and one that does tremendous work for police families and we’re happy to support their effort.”

I find it interesting that some folks want to make this about Glock, Sig, the looks of the guns and not the message. I did not put the post up there for people to come and disparage Glocks Sigs or any guns. The message of "support" is lost or just not wanted. Maybe time for the Mods to Lock Down the tread.

The OP did not say how much money Glock was donating to LEOs. Maybe lead with that because I love our flag and I love Glocks and I support LEOs but I will never buy a gun with a flag on it.

Glock Inc. and Glockstore are not the same company. Hence my questioning.

Glock Inc. has done more for our 2A rights than a lot of people realize. i.e. instrumental in the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act

The message of "support" is lost or just not wanted.

Its not lost, I want to know where my money goes.

I have personal experience with GlockStore in So Cal and they do fantastic work that I like and that I don’t care for. But the quality of the work I have seen firsthand in their store is first-rate, and they have worked on 2 of my guns (not finish work) and their work on my own guns is excellent.

If sparkly bass boat finishes on your guns are your thing then GlockStore can deliver for you. But if the OP expects to get similar quality finish work from a source other than GlockStore then there is no way to vouch for the quality of work from an unknown source.

If you didn't want people to discuss the looks of the gun, why did you title the post to be about the looks of the gun?

The thread title ,
Yes, a beautiful Glock ,
is interpreted by me as a subjective statement about the aesthetics of the gun in question. Now , there are bound to be differing opinions on that , given the subject gun and the bold graphics.

If the OP's intention was to give credit to the gun manufacturer for raising money for a good cause then the subject title should have addressed that.
Me , I'm all for supporting law enforcement at any time , and especially in time of crisis.

As to that pistol , well , on an aesthetic level it is more than I can bear.

I can see your frustration here, and perhaps I contributed to it being one of the early posters to this thread.

However, to be fair, your initial post was simply about the beauty of the gun. And that's how I chose to frame my answer.

To be honest, I'm not much for painting up any gun, Glock or otherwise. Just not my bag. My main preferences are blued, anodized, or in the case of the Colt SAA, color case hardened.

Follow that up with stainless (brushed over polished) and then nickle plated in last place.

However, I'm all about commemorative editions, special editions, custom engraving, painting, etc. for whatever occasion or purpose. There are millions of people out there, and there's a market for nearly everything under the sun.

If this floats your boat, then I say "AWESOME!" and have at it. Because I believe people should get whatever strikes their fancy.

Lol, did you actually read the post? I guess you missed the part." Maybe it is the message that makes it beautiful." If you need further explanation as to "WHY", I am sorry, but I cannot help you. I also cannot help you with how symmbolisms, metaphors etc.. are used in lititure, and on and on. Perhaps someone else can explain this to you.
Yes, the gun without the message is IMO not my taste as well. But that is not the point. I do have some guns that are going to be coated with my own design, and will not be flashy etc. I do not like any Bing on gun and actually have very conservative taste.

Ha, thanks for the misspellings in a finger-wag about having to explain "lititure and symmbolisms." Made me giggle.

I did read the post. You liked the look of the pistol, and maybe (or maybe not) liked it because of the message. I didn't mean to pee in your Wheaties, and didn't realize you were looking solely for agreement and not discussion.

Enjoy your statist Glock in good health.

There are times when the high road isn't so high.
