In the days of our youth.

I doubt this old girl has seen a BB down the pipe in 35 years. She has, however, put down countless green "Army Men" and is a veteran of a local BB war or three. I would sit out on our deck and just plink away at advancing army men. When the call came I answered with this old girl and went off to neighborhood BB war on occasion. (times were different, don't judge me :D But yeah its horrifying to think we shot these types of guns at each other. :what:) Lots of found memories with this old girl.

My first was a crossman 1377 pistol bought the pistol brace for it and installed the peep sight blade. Used it and my brothers 760 when ever I went out. Young and dumb also engaged in a few wars buddies had a couple full auto models and went hunting for opponents while I sat in an abandoned house with a scoped Daisy 880. Put 5 bbs in during one battle took aim at an opponent at 50 yds, centrr torso hold. 4 hit his right inner thigh. He shrieked and ducked back behind the lilac bush that he jumped out from. Good times.

In the early 1960's I had my father talked into allowing me to have a BB or pellet rifle; except my mother veto'd that idea. I shot other guys BB guns and a few years later I got into real guns in the form of 22's and a 16 ga. shotgun. Then 5 years ago I went to a National Sportsman Day celebration at a Rod & Gun club and shot a Benjamin Trail, break barrel, 22 cal. pellet rifle for free at the Crosman air rifle display tent with a test firing range. Liked it so much I told the guy I wanted to get one. He asked me if I wanted to buy the one I just shot and quoted me a very nice price. I drove into town and hit an ATM for the money, came back and got it. Crosman calls these "demonstrators" and they let folks shoot them for a limited amount of time and then sell them at a discount as they are now used. So I got my first pellet gun at age 65 after owning countless rimfire & centerfire handguns & rifles & shotguns. Gotta admit I really like it. Makes me wish I could have gotten one way back when. Better late than never, as the saying goes........ IMG_8153.JPG

Welcome to the club, better late then never. You may find that airgunning is its own beast that needs to be fed and brings enjoyment even beyond firearms in many ways.

Daisy Powerline 880, the older ones with the metal receiver, the new ones kind of suck. I put a 3x9x40 Leupold on it. It was fast and accurate for as far I cared until I got my first real gun at about 9-10ish. Between me and my brother we went through several of them.
