I kept reading about the Smith 69 Combat Magnum and how everyone that has one on here really likes theirs. I’ve wanted one since they were released and finally scored a used 4.25”
one for $675. It was the shop owners personal revolver and says it was unfired as he has plenty of 44 magnums. Up to this point I’ve only owned Rugers, an LCR, Security Six, two GP100’s and a Super Redhawk in 44 mag. The SRH gets used for deer hunting with full strength loads, this 69 will mostly see mid strength and will be mostly for fun. I have a SWC load over titegroup that’s does about 900 FPS out of the SRH that should be perfect. I must say the trigger is pretty good, it’s a different pull than my Rugers. It seems smoother, can’t feel when the cylinder locks into place as easily when pulling the trigger slowly. Still love my Rugers but now I know what people are talking about when comparing the two!
