Has anyone purchased from them? They seem to have ammo in stock at good prices and given the pandemic prices these days, good stock and good prices make me skeptical.

You must be looking at an uncommon caliber. All of the common ones are out of stock on their site with the exception of a little 55 gr. Wolf Gold for $12.99/20 and 69gr HPBT PPU for $19.99/20.
Edit: Looks like they have some S&B 115gr 9mm for $32/50.

Those prices look a little high to me, everytime I look to order from them the shipping is a little higher than others. Try gun.deals.com or Ammoseek or other ammo search engines and search for your caliber, also find out when Academy get a truck and go by there the next MORNING and they are charging normal prices, popular calibers are usually gone before lunch.

They’re a little high for normal times, reasonable for what I’ve been seeing these days for “pandemic pricing”

I have bought ammo from the brick and mortar store in VA Beach and ordered online from the armory. My father in law worked there for 10 years. Good people and good to deal with.

Good to know! Thanks! They’re one of the few places that 1.) has x39 ammo in stock 2.) Isn’t too far increased in price and 3.) Will ship to my address.

Some places will still ship ammo to a home address in NY state, ( but not NY City). One such place is TargetsportsUSA.com and there are a few others. Friend of mine just got a bunch of .380 ammo about a month ago from Targetsports before the latest buying panic. I purchased some 22LR from them earlier this year, delivered to my door. NY state never got their proposed computer checks for ammo sales or whatever it was up and running. It should have been operational a few years ago but never happened. After the passage of the NY "SAFE ACT" in 2013 most sellers just stopped making sales to NY state but that restriction has yet to be formally implemented. There are still a few places that legally ship to a NY state home address other than Targetsports and a little research will bear this out.

Is that because you're in NY or is that their general policy?
NY.

Any place can ship to a home on NY. Most just choose not to.

Yep.

They're my go to for Wolf Gold .223, which I buy by the case if we're low. They often offer some pretty darn good deals, and that's when I'll buy. Last couple cases I bought (a few years back) was right at $300/1,000 round case. They generally offer bulk with an "extra", like packing it all in an ammo can for you, in an Armory range bag, etc.

"Low" roughly being defined as "a case per rifle"...

:D

...... That's the way it is.... I think most sellers decided that they may as well stop now because any time now it's gonna stop. The ones that still ship to NY state must have decided to just do it as long as possible. When NY state passed the safe act in 2013 they gave a one year grace period before on line ammo sales ended. So most sellers decided to stop on line to your door sales after that one year, which was then 2014. I bought a lot of ammo in that grace period year. So while most sellers stopped by 2014, NY state never got their planned computer background check system going. Then in 2015, IIRC, there was some sort of moratorium signed that allowed for on line ammo sales at least until the state system was up and running. Which still hasn't happened yet. Based on NY states reputation on anything gun related I think that most sellers have just written the state off.

Kinda illogical for a business to do that though (not that that means it isn't what they're doing). Why would a business just write off a large number of potential customers just because those customers might some day not be able to buy from them? What possible advantage could there be for them in that?

That IS illogical and I wish I had a good answer. Sometimes I think they are afraid to deal with anyone in NY state for fear of being sued by the state if some of that ammo was involved in anything illegal. NY state will sue anyone, anytime, for anything especially if it furthers the anti-gun narrative, ( like their current lawsuit against the NRA). That and the SAFE ACT restrictions that were passed but not yet implemented have frightened away a good number of folks IMHO.

It's not just NY, happens here in NJ also. Bass Pro, and recently, Cabela's won't ship ammo even though they were up until a few months ago. As of yet, there are no legal restrictions in doing so. Can't imagine what their motivation is. Thing is, we have a Bass Pro in Atlantic City that sells ammo.

Did I see it right? Almost $170 for 40 rounds. That is over $4.00 a round. Oops my bad, did not see the quantity amount. Regardless still high at almost 50¢ a round.
