The recent M1 and M14/M1A threads took me back to when I used to own and shoot such rifles. I had a Turner Saddlery "biothane"(?) sling for each one, and I really enjoyed shooting with that style. They had good grip and were very secure. I particularly enjoyed the sitting position with that style of sling.
Now I'm thinking I'd like a shooting sling for my hunting rifle, a Tikka T3X. But those made by Turner are a little heavy, and kind of slow to get in to. I have a Rhodesian style from Wilderness Tactical on my Ruger Scout, which seems okay. It's faster to get in to, but being nylon webbing it's a little slick on certain clothing.
I'm considering a Rhodesian from Andy's Leather. But I'm wondering if any of you know of a more weather resistant option. I'm open to other designs too, as long as I don't have to add a sling stud for it.
Anyone using something they really like?
