Future of police surplus firearms

I’ve bought several surplus firearms:
Sig 226 40 cal, 2 Beretta 81s, CZ 83 in 32 acp, S&W 5903, Argy Hi Power, and a Mini 14 which is an ex prison rifle. I like surplus!

I’m kicking myself for night buying the trade in s&w model 10s that I saw at the beginning of the year going for $250
I would be too, except now I have to kick myself over the Rossis from two months ago. Kicking myself for not buying a used Rossi... that’s what it’s come to.

For a few hours today Aim Surplus had S&W 5903s, 5904s, and a few X grade Sig 226s. The 5903s were $369, the 5904s were $359, and the Sigs were $350.
I bought a Sig 226. Hopefully it’s not in too bad of shape. Thought about getting a 5904, but I already have a 5903, and really don’t need another.

Pic of my $350 Sig 226 9mm police trade in from Aimsurplus. It’s in good shape, holster wear, but perfectly acceptable. It was extremely dirty. 1990 West German made. Cleaned up well and ordered new grips, screws, and recoil spring. And it came with a new Mecgar 18 rd mag.

LEO trade-in and military surplus firearms are my favorite categories. I've gotten some absurdly good deals.

The Baretta 96 for $150 plus shipping and FFL was a stupidly good deal. The Beretta PX4 Storm in 40 caliber has a mediocre DAO trigger, but cost the same as the 96 and that was still a great price.

The Star Super B, Star BM, and Beretta 81 cost a little over $200 apiece, plus shipping and FFL.

The S&W Model 10 snub and Sig P229 were a little over $300 apiece plus shipping and FFL. They are both excellent shooters with excellent triggers.

Some of these handguns were carried a lot and some were not. None of them seem to have been shot much.

There are a bunch of others. These are some of my favorites.

Just ordered my first of many Star BMs. $300 shipped and hand picked. Next one ill just buy the not hand picked one and see. Think I will start to collect the things. So in 10-15 years they will hopefully be worth double if not triple what I paid. That or Ill have a whole herd of awesome 9mm sitting in the safe.

Oh man, im dying to get a Beretta 96. I wish I could find one for even $400 let alone $150

Robertson Trading Post has several Italian Police Beretta M1951's in your price range.
Im more actively seeking a .40 cal right now. I did check them out though, though priced a little higher than PSA, but PSA is luck of the draw

Im on the search for a M96A1 or some sorta Sig 22# series in .40 cal

Considering recent political events, I doubt there will be any police surplus guns available to the public in the future.
I would suspect that they will be destroyed when the police are done with them.

As promised, here’s a pic of my surplus p226, new grips and springs. I put the Hogue G10 anodized aluminum grips on, and they feel very good in my hand. Slimmer than stock grips and a lot slimmer than the rubber Hogues that were on it.
