May dad had a rokon they were cool.we used the Argo more, the one lake we fished had a old trail to it very few things would make it. The rokon and the Argo would just make the trail only full size to make it was dads ih scouts, then things would go anywhere. This square body's and gladiator were to wide unless you broke trail.

Wish we still had all that cool stuff, I'd love to get a scout to fix up but there like hens teeth now, I blame all the jeep quys for stealing all the axles lol. The gladiator was great to, the j series jeeps were like tanks. Each would make a good hunting rig I know are ones carried a lot of deer out of the woods.

Ural's are tough machines. I've been looking into getting one of their two wheel drive models.
This isn't an Ural but a Dnepr, eg. it was made by KMZ instead of IMZ.
Build quality is a bit higher since they mainly made bikes for military use whereas IMZ had the civilian production line, and still has for that matter.

They made a two (rear) wheel drive version too but this one is standard sidecar

There was something similar to the Rokon made here in Sweden and I'd like to get one just for fun.

I don't know that I would call Dnepr's better quality based off my limited experience with them but they are definitely more heavily overbuilt; which, thinking about it, would be a good thing if you stuck a moose in the car. I do prefer their transmission design, bearings, and higher pressure oil pump over the same era Ural's. When you start comparing them to the Ural's of today they quickly fall behind in basically every category.

Yes, well... a bit higher in comparison doesn't really say anything about the quality as such.
The quality is... Sovjetski. Nuff said.

No more hunting photos, my daughter got covid and the whole family's been cooped up in isolation for a week.
Talk about cabin fever!

Hopefully my test will turn out negative so I can flee back to work!

I managed to get a day's hunting with a friend before my daugter called, but the moose that showed up where all off limits.
And it rained, so the only good thing was the night before, swapping stories and drinking beer.

Hope you all the best, and nobody get the rona.
I tried some squirrel hunting today, turned into squirrel finding since I didn't see a dang one. I did have a very nice buck walk up on me, just my luck not having the bow with me. I know the 17hmr will drop a deer but new York would not like that.

I'm liking the idea of using the 17hmr after October 1st when small game hunting since we can shoot coyote after that. I'd rather not try it with a 22lr I've seen some hybrid yotes here over 100 pounds.

Ah, I don't think the Roadrunner would like one of those. But, then again, the bigger they are the harder they fall. And then the anvil on top of that...

So far no one else have gotten the rona, so I think we got away this time.
And now she has imunity and can visit grandma, so a bit of a win-win thing
