I bought two 10 round MecGar for the SP2022. The only thing stopping the follower from going all the way down is that dimple. I was wondering if anyone has converted the 10 round SP2022 MecGar mag to a 15 rounder?

Would it be as simple as drilling out the dimple?

Thanks.

My first thought is that the spring may need to be replaced, as the 10 round spring may not be strong enough when extended to the bottom of the magazine.

A lot of those dimpled AWB magazines were "lanced" or slit through outside the dimple so that they would fall apart if you drilled out the dimple. The BATF would not approve a magazine readily converted to full capacity.
I don't see a mark for that in the picture so maybe you could drill it out. Lots of Remington shotguns with dimples drilled out of the magazine tube for extensions.

I went ahead and drilled out the dimple figuring figuring I might sacrifice a mag. It appears to have worked. The magazine is now a 15 rounder.

I don't recommend this for people in non-free states, but since I live in a state that does not have magazine restrictions, I am good.

I posted pics for everyone's viewing pleasure.

I forgot to mention, I loaded up the de-dimpled magazine with 15 rounds of 9mm and all seems to work fine.

Whatever steel they make that magazine out of is seriously rock hard. I dulled a drill bit.
