Is there such a reamer that the model 71 can be reamed up to 348AI while the gun is assembled???

I'm wondering if there is a piloted reamer and driver/arbor that can be inserted from muzzle and locked together as an assembly to do an assembled gun modification.

I'm not sure if I'm interested in disassembling the rifle is the reason. I could see running a lot of grease to catch chips and carefully checking headspace often between very light cuts.

Maybe I'm all wet, or maybe it's something that exists. I'm here to find out!

My concerns are once you cut the chamber, there is no going back.

I tried some 250's with 4350 (slower than 4895 powder) and recoil was stout enough I was bumping the lever open on recoil. This reason alone makes me greatly doubt I'd be able to handle the increase in recoil without my action opening some on recoil. I would be aggravated if I had to dial back from full performance (which would be silly, using more powder and work to make the brass for the same result as standard 348 ammo)

That’ll be quite a whack on both ends of the gun, the .348 in a Model 71 is no slouch as it is :what:.

Stay safe.
