Hey guys.....I'm starting to get geared up to shoot the Quigley matches this coming June....made up a video on bullet casting consistency as part of that.....constructive feedback is greatly appreciated!!

Good video, and consistency. Tom does make some awesome molds too. I bet it don't take long to empty that pot either.:D

Just thinking outta curiosity, those initial light bullets were probably due to the difference in mold temps while you were explaining what you were doing. Other than that you were on a roll.

Also, and I'm far from an authority on it, but I've read in the past about the better accuracy potential of nose pour molds over bottom pour molds. Have you considered looking into one of those?

Interesting that your pressure casting. I pressure cast every now and then, mainly when a multi-cavity mold doesn't vent right or when using huge/long hp pins in a narrow mold.

Can you post pictures of your keepers along with some rejects????

My results were all over the map when I was trying to use the bottom pour on the pot. I have two Lee pots (both bottom pour) and I thought some of the inconsistencies were due to the wild temp swings that Lee pots seem to have. I bought the (way more expensive) Lyman pit and had the same problem. That’s when I broke down and went with the dipper. Have not considered a nose pour but it’s an interesting idea!

I could post some photos of the keepers/rejects later today, but the look the same.
