Good for you! They're fun little .22s that should provide you and your family many years of dependable service! I came by mine from a good friend who bought it used and took it along when he checked his trap lines. It was in pretty rough shape when I got it but with a bit of effort I got it cleaned right up. Added new grips and a .22 Magnum cylinder when I made the rounds at the local gun shows.

Congratulations I have 2 older pre'73 three screw windage adj only rear sight blued models with both cylinders. One 5.5in, the other 6.5in. Great revolvers made to last. Enjoy.

I have it cleaned and lubed. Checked both cylinders for fit and function. She's ready to roll.

I want to get some nice leather holsters in the future for my wheel guns. I have plenty of synthetic ones.
My Single Six 5.5 inch Convertible in stainless and the new DeSantis Wild Hog ambidextrous and multi position holster:
Just got this holster, it allows me to carry it while hunting cross draw so it is out of the way of a slung rifle. My other "western" style holster is right hip only. I like the Wild Hog, got it on Amazon a little while back for $23.95.

Yeah I saw an ad for that particular holster. Please let us know how it goes when you started carrying with it and how well it holds up to field use.

The holster is well made and usually a little more money. I notice they are out of stock now on Amazon (I think) and the price is closer to $40 which it is still a good price. The only thing I do not like is that I would wish for a leather doubler on the muzzle end. I have already carried it while hunting and no issues.

The link is for the 5.5 inch barrel BTW. They do not make one specific to the 6.5 inch barrel, which would stick out about 1/2 inch by my guesstimate, if that matters.

I bought my 6.5” convertible many years ago, it’s been one of my favorites since day one. My son liked shooting “the cowboy gun” so much I bought a Wrangler to give to him when he’s of age.

Nice catch. I just scored 4# of Unique today for an old normal price believe it or not! And 500 158 LSWC bullets. I was in there looking for some 22lr ammo though.

I paid 25.00 for the herco. My other LGS sells it for 22.00. But the new LGS is 1/2 the distance.

I was tickled to death.

Midway usually carries them in in raw steel and stainless, in a plow handle and birds head configuration. Fitting and finishing definitely required, the edges won't match exactly to the edges of the frame above the trigger guard and the steel will have some light tooling marks that need to be polished out. Screws "should" line up.
