Classy concealed carry

The Mauser HSc sure is a pretty piece of metal, but I don’t enjoy it’s manual of arms (backwards safety, heel mag release)

I carry a BHP and it’s got fine lines too, but that wasn’t even in my calculus when I decided to carry it.... I carry it because it’s badass and I’m good with it.

you want pretty? Carry a Whitney Wolverine!

A nicely tooled LEATHER holster does a lot to put lipstick on a functional pig.

Something like the Tucker version that BigMike45 posted early in the thread would even make a Highpoint look....ok, well maybe not but you probably get the point.

Now, slip a 2 tone .40 cal EMP in it with some rosewood grips and you’re ready for any formal function.

1) Anything can be pretty/classy. My S&W 5946 had this weirdly nice factory bead blast finish, and I did slightly custom wood for it, so pulling out at matches people would ask about it.

2) It's concealed. My guns often come out at the range dusty, etc. and people ask, I say "who cares as long as it works?"

3) We may need to move from concealed to "carry," and that allows the Barbeque Guns to come visit the thread.

Stainless 1911 with black grips with a black leather holster and mag holster. I have the stainless Springfield and a friend has the officer model and they look great, shoot great and clean easily.

Kimber Rapide Black Ice full-sized 1911 pistols look pretty cook to my eyes...

As do their new Micro 9 versions...

But the two-tone look of the SA Ronin Operator pistols just call out to me!

Now all you need is one of those amazing Tucker holsters BigMike45 has to carry one.

Stay safe.

Carry guns that just ooze class, but I'd probably never carry;
Savage 1907, Remington 51, Colt M1903 & '08, (though I did carry my '08 some),and the Browning/FN M1910 and for the 'little guns' , Walther WTP 9 and Colt Junior and Baby Browning. These require a 3 piece suit, pinsriped, (Or tuxedo) bonus points if you have one of the .25's in the vest pocket along with the .32 or .380 in the inside breast pocket.

Shouldn't "concealed" and "stylish" be mutually exclusive terms? Nobody is supposed to see it or even know you have it.

The opposite of an SUV with 22" pimp wheels with lights and spinners, and the owner can't see them while driving, but everyone else can :)

A weapon a person carries for protection is a TOOL! Do people go to the hardware store and purchase the best looking hammer with beautiful scrolling or do they purchase the hammer that will do the job the best? Need to be serious about why a person carries a weapon. To be pretty and cool or for protection if needed.

Agreed... but my GF and many women get pink hammers and tools. Maybe this gun fashion thing is our feminine side peeking out?

One thing I do believe in is a quality, if possible, a custom holster made to fit your specific gun. I've bought more holster over the years than I care to admit and sole off or given away most of them. The few I have left serve me well for the gun I am carrying at that time. Here are a few I still have. If you carry a fully loaded gun for a full day...or longer I guarantee the better the holster fits you and your gun the more comfortable it will be and will promote carrying more often. After 3 decades of carry I know what works for me and what doesn't. I won't go unarmed but I will do it as comfortably as I can.

I'm currently looking for an IWB holster for my new Springfield XDM 10mm, but when I still had my XD45acp I carried it in a Don Hume with a double mag holster as well.

My usual carry pieces are kind of plain. But I have a few nicer ones that I could carry.

I could carry my Beretta 81 or 84, if I wanted to. I think the Altamont grips look nice on them, and they fill my hand perfectly now. The 84 is kind of dinged up (milsurp), but the 81 is in good shape. The 81 is a very polite weapon. It has good sights and trigger. The recoil is practically nil. Each shot barely moves the sights off target at all.

The Star CO is a classy little pocket pistol, IMHO, and not so easy to find anymore.

And, really, the little Mausers have a quirky almost turn-of-the-century look.

These little Berettas are classy, though mine is old and worn.

The 1903 has a serious cool factor.

And yeah, the Sig is like a curvy Walther.

Out of all of these I've posted, if I was with friends and everyone's pistol jumped into their hand due to a false emergency, the Colt 1903 would look the coolest, IMHO. Everyone else would be holding their ugly hohum plastic Glocks or whatever, while I would be slowly replacing the elegant 1903 into the inner breast pocket of my London Fog, with my fedora tipped just so, and my silk scarf swirling in the breeze. :)

One of the funnest aspects of this thread is reading ugly-gun owners tout their guns' hideousities as almost points in a decision of what to carry - and further implying that seeking an aesthetic benefit is somehow irresponsible.

Look, your frikken gun is ugly - we get that. It doesn't mean it's somehow more serious.:neener:

Only a fool thinks a cheerleader can't also be a nerd.

Not for nothin' are Bar-B-Que guns some of the most serious firearms I've ever seen. Ostentatious display of which is not a prerequisite of; building, owning or carrying. Lots of the most beautiful BBQ guns I've seen are modestly concealed. These, I think of as Go-To-Church guns.

Todd.

It can go too far. I took a class and the instructor had a bright chrome 1911 with wooden grips with ivory skulls embedded. The class stunk - I should have known. However, my SW 1911Sc is pretty nice looking in its standard configuration. But that's a side effect.

That's a fact. As an example, some of those Jesse James exercises in excess come to mind.
