I'm not really a single action guy, but...

But I think I'll make an exception for this one. It's my wife's fault. I said I wasn't going to get it. She said "Get the (blank) gun. I'm not going to listen to you whine and cry about how you should have." Gee. The respect I get.

Without further ado...

USFA, SAA, in 45 Colt. Unfired since leaving the factory as best I can tell, with box, papers, etc. Little envelope with spent cartridge says April of 2006.

I don't know what I'll do with it. I did manage to get a box of 45 Colt ammo for a little less than the cost of the gun, but it might be a safe queen too. To early to tell yet.

SWEEET! Safe Queen or Range Rat, it's a nice score!
Everyone's a single-action revolver shooter. It's just some folks haven't found the right single-action... yet.

Thats nice. I have looked at them on GB and about the only people who can afford one is Bill Gates and some of the Rockefellers. I think I could buy Pattons ivory handled Colt for less money. Lol.

I really wish I had bought one back when they were still in business. As good or better than a real Colt.

Nice!
I think you will find that single actions kind of grow on you and all of a sudden one day you will realize you actually “enjoy” shooting them...”them” being the key word. One becomes two and so on...
Be careful, they breed in the dark. I put a Ruger Single Six and a Pietta Great Western in the vault and a few weeks later I had a Heritage Rough Rider.:D

Mr. Bass,

If you find you are not shooting that single action please sell it to someone who will. USFA single actions of that vintage (it appears in your pictures to be all US sourced parts) are excellent shooters and fine examples of how good a single action can be. Let someone who will use it as intended treasure that gun for the fine revolver it is.

YMMV,
Dave

Dave, I've made the decision I'm going to shoot it. Maybe not a lot, but I will shoot it. I'm not getting any younger, and it will most likely never be the investment that will set my family up for life. I think I'll enjoy it. I might shoot my 4" Python the same day.

I've had a couple of people ask. I paid $1300.00 for it. I don't know if that's good, bad or indifferent. That's what was on the tag, and these days, there ain't much wiggle room. If you don't want it, the guy behind you does.

My wife said to let everyone know she has an unmarried sister and daughter. The down side is they live in the Chicago suburbs. On the other hand both seem to be fairly intelligent and pro gun.

Pictures?

Frankly $1300.00 sounds like a heck of a deal to me. After you shoot it or even before I will let you make $50 on it. Thats the least I can do. :D

I think you got a pretty good deal. I don’t have much experience with these but I think $1300 is a great price. Congratulations!
