I just built a Aero EPC-9 carbine using all Aero parts, except a Faxon bolt. It feeds FMJ ammo fine, but REFUSES to feed even one round of RMR JHP handloads, loaded to 1.075" OAL. It gets hung up between the mag and chamber, on a 45 degree angle. Is anybody else having this issue? I'm wondering if it's the Faxon bolt, or if the OAL needs to be shorter, heavier recoil spring, etc. Thanks in advance...

A few thoughts.. is the bolt face smooth ? , so the rim face can slide easily across it.
Feed ramps smooth ? ... and the edge of the chamber and "feed cone" smooth and slightly rounded ?
Glock mags release a pistol round in a kinda odd way, popping it out after the feed lips... so any help feeding, smoothness wise might help.

Do you have a pic of a loaded round ? Maybe the bullets ogive is to blunt.

My AR9 uses Glock mags and won't reliably feed certain bullets. XTPs feed fine but the X-Treme JHPs won't feed at all because they are too blunt. The RMRs may be as well. Try seating them about 1.12-1.14 OAL.

I believe the blunt bullet concept is the problem. I tried cycling ball ammo of two different types, and Hornady critical defense through it, and it fed them fine.

I do like the idea of breaking the edges on the chamber, and rounding and polishing them. I have done that on several 45 automatics, (along with polishing the top of the chamber), and it greatly improves the reliability. I think I may break out the Dremel and give it a light going over. Thanks
