What should I name my K frame?

Irving.
From the Jack Chalker story in which a truck driver finds himself cast into a world of swords and sorcery.
Presented with one of the last unissued dwarven swords, he can name it and it will serve only him.
"Irving"
"Why are you looking at me that way? Irving is a perfectly good name, I named my son Irving."

Some guns, you name.
Some name themselves.

Gun and blade share the same name: big and ugly. But the 1917 shoots and the karambit is just a frightening weapon I hope to never need. :)

I have a nearly identical revolver that once was the property of the California Department of Corrections. It's claim to fame is that it is a round-butt 4" Model 10. I don't name guns and simply call it the Model 10. Were I to acquire other Model 10s I suppose I would then have to refer to this one as the round-butt 4".

YMMV,
Dave

When I posted this, I was thinking along the lines of a "model" name, such as the Victory Model. I like the idea of the Liberty Model, and have begun using it because Model 10 did not really cover the idea behind this revolver to me. That being said, I have enjoyed everyone's ideas on actual "names", though. It has been fun seeing everyone's ideas, though.

I don't give my guns human names, either. However, I have given my own model names to guns I've modified. :)

My wife and I have names for certain things that are part of that, "only married people understand it," language. "Big Ugly" is my .45 S&W Model of 1917. We don't name all our guns, just that one.
My mother knows if my dad calls for Old Bessie to get his H&R Pardner in 12ga with a round of buckshot and a round of birdshot each off the top of the gun cabinet.
