Initial impression are very favorable.

Finish is in pretty good shape. There were no service logos on it so nothing had to been ground off. Grips are pretty good but I’ll likely replace them with something else TBD. I haven’t field stripped it yet but will do so tomorrow.

It fits my hand great and I’m excited to get it to the range and run some rounds through it. The weight of the thing should make it a real soft shooter, as those who are familiar with it will attest.

More to follow…..

Nice! The condition isn’t bad at all. I had one briefly and sold it off for something else. I should probably grab another one while they are still around.

There were service logos ground off of your gun. Look at the two circular spots...one just under the extractor on the slide, and a matching one below it on the frame. Those are the ground off spots. I only know because someone pointed it out to me on a forum when I bought mine.

Hope it shoots well. Those are enjoyable shooters. Congrats!

If they were there, they weren’t very deep

Range report. I ran +/- 40 rounds of RMR 124 FMJs reloads through it without a hitch. Not my most accurate pistol but certainly soft shooting and a lot of fun. Very happy with my purchase

I picked one up myself in a deal a couple months ago, and it worked fine with some CCI brass and S&B JHP rounds. I keep it well oiled and in my tool chest in the garage, just in case. According to several youtube videos, those guns are prone to barrel link failures- but EGW makes one that is supposed to be way superior to the original, pretty cheap. I ordered and installed one, and re-tested the pistol- it still ran fine.

I did a more thorough cleaning today and found the barrel to be heavily fouled with copper and carbon.

It might shoot a little more accurately next time out

Mine runs fine with Wolf 115 gr and Blazer brass 115 gr. Pretty darn accurate at the range that counts 25 feet and it will get the job done. I had one jam extracting the last fired steel cased Wolf, it beat the heck of out that case. But test fired with the brass case Blazer just fine.

Congrats. I once owned a Star Modelo Super and currently own one of the Star BM's - they're good little guns. On the outside they look extremely 1911-ish but they're different enough on the inside that I consider them revision of the design rather than a direct copy.
