I loaded several hundred rounds with my new Dillon 550C when I began having problems with the primer seating cup catching on the edge of the shell plate. It looks like the nose of the seating cup is just catching the left side of the hole in the shell plate. If I apply a little pressure it centers in the hole and comes fully into the hole. I took everything apart and made sure it was clean. Dillon has a video on their site about how to make sure it’s the right height and it appears to be. I can see how the location of the primer seating cup can be adjusted front and back but not left to right. It looks like it needs to be moved right just about the width of the edge of the nose of the primer seating cup. The support form on the Dillon site says it’s currently taking several weeks for them to respond and if there’s a way to get some help a little quicker than that I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

Loosen the 2 screws underneath the primer housing and push the handle forward like you were going to seat a primer. This will move the primer slide under the shell plate and with the handle pushed forward and the primer cup pushed up thru the shell plate, snug the 2 screws back down. Key word is snug.

Being that they are only hand tight a drop of thread locker will keep the screws from loosening

I don't know about that as they have to be loosened/removed every time you change primer sizes...

I use a small lock washer for them - just tighten enough to flex the washer - it'll stay put and not stress the aluminium housing....

Also, snug the screws in steps. A little on the front, then a little on the back, a little on the front, etc. Reduces any twisting forces applied to the assembly. Goes quicker then loosing it back up, adjusting, and trying again.

As mentioned loosen the two screws push the handle forward and use the hole in the sub plate to align the primer cup (the whole assembly) tighten the screws with the handle forward so it stays aligned. I use an Allen wrench and tighten it snug, Not Farmer tight! No loctite needed.

In 22 years of loading on a 550B and now a 550c too this has always worked perfectly for me.

There is discussion, likely on Benos, about over tightening those screws and bulging the mung metal primer feed housing into the primer bar track. Not too tight. Somebody suggested pipe thread tape instead of Loctite. My neighbor the gunsmith was old fashioned, he had a gob of raw linseed oil for holding screws.

I can't believe anyone would do such a thing....!!!!!

Ok-------- it's me------- I've done such a thing.....

Called Dillon, told them what I had done.....Fella kinda snickered and sent me a new housing and primer bars for FREE.....!

Most of us just apply a wide flat file unless the bulge is so bad as to ruin the holes or crack the housing.

But Dillon's willingness to replace this stuff says something about how much it really costs them.

Been working my 550 since the early 1990's.
No loctite.
Loosen primer system.
Lower shellplate to lowest position.
Make sure cup is centered and things move freely.
Tighten screws (snug) - verify things move freely.
Adjust if needed.

Thanks everyone for your help. Following the advice given here I was able to get everything lined up and rolling again. Loaded up 250 357 Mags with no further problems. Sorry for the newbie questions but the 550 C is so different from the RCBS Pro 2000 I’ve loaded on for the last decade that I’m still trying to figure out how things work. Thanks again for the help.
