must be military, I don’t know anybody buying ammo after 2 years of 3-5x prices.

normal situation is, “I got 4 boxes just incase” and they all stop buying
People may not be buying as much, but Vista has orders on the books to fill. Those orders go to the distributors. Then to retailers to fill all the shelf space in the nation.

That true, good to see full shelves… from what I see, ammo panic is over, but the prices are still 2x-4x (.22 LR $70/500 brick)

But I know both camps not buying

Gun people not buying
New Gun people not buying

Didn't you just recently post about cases of 9mm under $300? And that you were considering buying some?
I'm sure there are many that are buying. They finally see some available and are spending their greenbacks.

I am, it’s steel case but still debating. If it was Brass case, I would jump
on $300/case of 9mm

I mis-posted,it isn’t billons of rounds. It is billons of dollars behind…like 6 billon…to catch up.

That is what was told to Sales at Turner’s Outdoors
above my pay grade, hoping to get some leached out primers that they had to trash between shift change

I made a prediction last June in another thread saying reloading components would start to become available this spring, albeit at high prices, ammo would start to be on the shelf reliably by this summer, and by winter we may see primers available in the $40-50 range....things were pretty well on track until a few days ago:(
Primers, when I can find them at the lgs or bps have been in the $80-$90 range. Assuming, WW3 doesn't break out, and some of the new suppliers can be on line by next year getting new stock into the supply chain, then maybe things will settle out. Until then, either because of geopolitical wrangling, or just across the board inflation....I don't see prices getting any better in the short term. Regardless, im still thinking Q3 of '23 through Q2 of '24 will be the time to stock up.

I’d feel pretty comfortable with that estimate.

I figure 20-30k primers would get me through the summer of ‘23 with a slight cushion in case it stretches a bit longer. I know guys who aren't feeling comfortable with less than 50k.

100k is just overkill. The guys who stocked up at $20/k are laughing now sitting on their pile. Must have been CCI, because no one has room to store that many Federal primers
