Was getting concerned about my shot shell loading components as son 1 and I both shoot in two to three leagues and I like to save my better factory shells for trophy, money and meat shoots.
I moved to town five years ago and my stuff is scattered around. So, I went hunting in the basement, garage, storage unit as well as calling a few of my bartering friends.
Primers: 4K Winchester, 1K Rem, 1K Cheddite. Traded a couple days for 10K Cheddite with another 3K coming tomorrow. Good for a few years there.
Powder: found a total of 21 pounds of various powders suitable for 12 GA trap loads. Shot: I found five bags in the storage unit, five more in a big ammo can and I bought ten a couple years ago. Have about 10K wads.
I thought I was about destitute but fund I'm quite blessed there and in other ways. What is not readily known is that some years ago I went into anaphylactic shock reaction to an antibiotic and was comatose for days. I lost some memory during that period so finding old stuff is like deja vu or me.

Amen! I lost a few months of memory the docs say I'll never get back but otherwise doing fine. Finding things in the store room - or desk, old range bags, safe floors, etc. - is just part of being a long-time gun person. My wife found a Springfield 9-1-1 buried in the bottom of her safe while looking for some old jewelry she wanted to wear this morning. Still in the box, unfired, still in the plastic wrap. Receipt says she bought it the weekend before I went toes-up temporarily. Nice surprise! :) Bad memory. :(

Glad your better now and happy to hear the story! Happy loading and shooting, or shooting and loading, I get confused sometimes :)

Shot a 24/25 @16 and a 21@25 for a 45/50 in league tonight with those "found" components. Son duplicated my scores with same stuff.
Thanks for the supportive stories.
I think we will be still in first or close in top division.

Glad you found enough components to keep you and your Son shooting! I expect most older "gun guys" occasionally find stuff that they forgot about. I know I have!
