So I've got a Ruger PC9 I might be forced (self imposed due to finances) to sell soon and was wondering what you all thought would be a fair price. I've spent about 1000$ dollars (gun, mags, parts, case, foam) and would like to see at least that amount back. I'm in NY state so its NY compliant (no threads, only have 10rd mags)

The model number is 19116, which comes with the factory Mlok Black Synthetic with Aluminum Free-Float Handguard.I paid around 650$. Ruger currently lists the MSRP at 849$. I still have all the factory hardware. I've put roughly 600 rounds through it. I purchased the TK Eagle Talon Extractor out of an abundance of caution, not because I had any FTE/FTF problems that weren't ammo related (the flat nosed Federal Syntech rounds gave me 3 FTF and a Winchester whitebox gave me a failure to extract, didn't have any such issue with Fiocchi, Blazer, Remingtion, or Federal FMJ).

It comes with:
4 x 10rd Ruger Security9 Mags (5 total but 1 came with the firearm)
Tandemkross Shock Block
Tandemkross Recoil Spring Retainer
Tandemkross Eagle Eye Fiber Optic Set
Tandemkross Eagle Talon Extractor
Ridgid 22" Tool Box w/the Kaisen Foam insert.
These items cost roughly 350$ counting tax and shipping.

Not sure how the law works regarding ammunition sales (Obviously FFL for the firearm), but if legal, I'd add in 200 rounds of Blazer 115 grain 9mm FMJ for 80$ (which is I think what I paid before tax)

I was considering adding the Tandemkross Victory Trigger but hit a financial wall first. It would cost me another 60$ or so and If it helped sell at a higher price point I would do it, but considering I'm looking to get 1000$ I'm not sure if it is worth it.

Would I be able to get 1000$ (1060$ w/Victory Trigger)/my money back?
Would it be fair/would I be able get 1,250$ or 1,500$?
Could I go higher then 1500$ or would that just be foolish?

I bought one locally three years ago for $480 with tax. The accessories and extra mags I added were $200 and I usually add a 50 count box of ammo with a sale. If I was to sell it right now I would list it for $700 and take the best offer over $600. The used firearm market in Texas isn't what it was during COVID. Most folks here no longer pay top money for a used firearm.

List it for what you want but be realistic and give yourself some wiggle room. Just to let you know Buds has four PC9 models for under $600. GOOD LUCK!

I was really hoping to get out of it what I put into it (1000$) but I guess that's not really realistic. 650-750 for everything is less then I'd like but cash is cash is cash. I'm not at the point where I have to sell it, but if I must I know what I should/could/will charge. Thanks for the replies so far

Anyone that offers you even the $1000 you seek to recover is most likely doing so because they can't get one otherwise, and/or have nefarious purpose in mind. Take the first $700-800 offer you get (if it seems on the up-and-up) and run.

Yep, I didn't vote because the answer is none of the above. I would pay around $650-700 for it.

It's hard to find a buyer that wants all of the exact accessories that you bought, and if you do, they certainly aren't going to pay full retail pricing for them. Package deals are hard to sell. You might do slightly better if you parted out all of the accessories and sold the gun separately.

Today in NY the legislature is set to pass a number of gun control bills, one of which will raise the age limit to 21 to purchase rifles as well as require a permit/license to possess a rifle. If this passes, and the law does not take effect as soon as it passes, there may be a number of people snapping up NY compliant rifles they never even glanced at, at prices they'd never have considered before in order to avoid the headache that is getting a firearms permit in NY state. Its sad because while in theory it means I could get 1000$+ or more from someone, it also would mean that my ability to replace it when my financial situation is better would be close to nil. I really need to move.

And that's why you will almost certainly be disappointed.

You have not added value, and you have not built anything. You have assembled a gun and related kit the way you wanted it, and likely paid retail for all of it.

This is akin to buying a new car at the dealer, 'investing' in blingy headlights and a loud stereo, and expecting someone else to pay you for your trouble.

Generally:a barely used Ruger is worth 60-80% of retail, and the accessories are worth 0-60% of retail, depending on what they are. Foam is worth nothing, a Pelican case might be worth 50%, mags are worth 60%, spare parts 50%, etc.

And this is why the smart money doesn't buy retail.

I just bought a Ruger Max-9...you guys think I could get $900 for it?

Or buy Ruger PCC's thinking their a money-making investment. Not a knock on the PCC...I have one and love it...but I have no illusions of it being an increasing-value collectible.

On a good day, I think that top dollar you might get for it would be $800. Other than that, realistically you're probably looking at $600 to $700.

PC9s are going above suggested retail now, but I think you’d be hard pressed to sell a used one for what you’ve got in it, and accessories at full retail.

Part the accessories off and sell them separately and I’d think I wouldn’t pay more than $700 used for the gun alone, especially considering I bought mine used/new for $400 new in the box.

Your thoughts on what makes the package complete may not make it complete in the eyes of another, and expecting to get paid over retail to do the assembling is probably only going to lead to disappointment

Looks to me like the waters have been tested and further responses will not likely change the results. If you have sold a PC9 and would like to respond, message me and the thread may reopen.
