Crosman AIR 17
1985 to 1990
The Crosman AIR 17 is a single stroke pneumatic able shoot pellets or BBs. Manufactured from 1985 to 1990. The guns velocity at 450 fps for BBs and 400 fps for pellets. A smooth bore barrel make this air gun a plinker. Crosman didn't alot of Single Stroke Pneumatic air rifles. A "replica" of the AR-15 / M-16. Athough the gun is mostly plastic it is a fairly good replica. The magazine is detachable and can be used to store extra pellet clips or bbs. The pellet magazine holds 4 pellets and also has a single shot tray built in the mag. The magazine for the Model 760 also fit this air gun and will hold 5 pellets. The rear sight is a peep and the front sight is post. The stock has a storage compartment that is accessible from the but plate. The barrel can be changed out for a rifled one using Crosman M4-177 barrel. , 1985 to 1990

Neat! Have you shot it with BBs?

I have one I picked up on a yard sale around 1991 that is still missing a rear sight. For the longest time I just taped a de primed .45 Auto Rim case in the carrying handle, magic markered the base black and used that as a peep.

About 2000 I ran into some folks selling those awful plastic look alike Colt Scopes from China. The lady let me have one at her price so I would go away and stop talking.

I actually tried it on an AR-15 HBAR…. and the adjustment seemed to drift with each shot.

As I was taking if off the “Real” Rifle, I noticed the AiR-17 in the corner and would you believe? There was a mounting hole in the carrying handle! the darn cheap Red Chinese scope dropped right in and fit!

Despite range and parallax issues it is minute of Little Plastic Army Men at 7-10 yards. With BBs.

Before I scoped it I used it walking about the property popping of BBs using the old “Quick Skill” Technique of pointed fire. It seemed to translate over to my AR-15 use.

Thanks for sharing this one.

BTW if you have a video for that Daisy CO2 300 up on the wall could you repost it? Back when I had a 200 pistol as a kid my bestie got a 300 rifle and lorded it over me … for a week before it slid off the trunk of his dad’s car and got run over.

Again thanks for all your air gun videos and for posting them on THR!

The Daisy 300 was my first co2 rifle. My brother bought it for my birthday. The one in the video I purchased because of that gift from him.
Never mind! I found the 300 vid you posted back in september.

Thanks again!
