Dear reloaders,

I'm sorry, I've searched, but can't find exactly what I need. I'm trying to reload for 300 wsm and a Nosler 165 gr accubond. I would like to try H 4831 SC. I don't see published data for that powder. Seems like the Nosler book is focused on slightly faster powders. H 4831 shoots a 165 gr Gameking into one ragged whole. I could start working up from about 64 grains, but if anyone has tested loads that I could start with, I would appreciate it.

I dont have any loads for that combo at all. You could start by emailing Hodgdon and Nosler and asking about that particular combo. They might have tested it and ended up with sub par results that weren't worth putting in a manual. Or they might have a recommendation of where to try. This would save components when working up. This approach has helped me many times in the past.

Bear with you, like hunting? Or bare with you like your having a baby... I leave that saying to the woman foke.

Hodgdon shows faster powders too, in the classic .300 wm they show 4831 for the 165, I'm thinking it's coming down to case volume....if I was using 165 sgks with 4831 already in .300wsm in *MY* rifle, I'd reduce the load for the sgk slightly and work up with the nab.

My best load with the 165 gr is with IMR-4350. I lapped the barrel on my M10 Savage before I shot it. The first seven 3 shot groups were under an inch. My test loads were with 168gr SMK, but 165 Accubonds and Ballistic Tips shoot just as good. This has taken a truck load of whitetails from 10 to 250 yards.
