Where's All The Ruger .45 Colt Revolvers?

it always struck me as a niche gun for the budget cowboy crowd.
Maybe. If I buy a Ruger Wrangler though, it will be for a "plinker/tackle box" gun. And the truth is, I've thought about buying one for just that. The only problem is, I already have a couple of .22 rimfire "plinker/tackle box" guns, so I can't quite bring myself to use that excuse for buying another gun.
Now a Ruger Wrangler with a birdshead grip??? I might - I've always liked the looks of revolvers with birdshead grips, yet I've never owned any. Yep, that's all the excuse I need - I'm going to Sportman's Warehouse when we get to town this afternoon. :D

Fear not! They are still being made. Well hear ya go. Snagged one, she's a high polished one, Model 5104 Stainless .45 LC 5.5 in, it had been out in the case two whole days. The lgs was surprised they got one in.
I wanted a 4 inch but beggars...
Remember when you could walk into a LGS and see several in the case, maybe even a a SASS or two?

There are a number of Vaqueros, even a couple Bisley models coming up on Proxibid in the next week or so. Just FYI.

Here is my only big bore Ruger revolver, a NM BH in 45 Colt. It has had some work done...

index.php

I also have a quintet of Single sixes, Bisley 32 H&R included, and a birds head converted (by me) Wrangler.

Been looking for a convertible Blackhawk for years.
I had an older convertible 7 1/2" NMBH and never fired the 45 ACP cylinder. I have good 1911s for that. I took the convertible just to get the 45 Colt part. I never solved the leading issue with a .451 bore and .454 chambers and sold the gun full disclosure in order to try something else.

So last night I was checking an order on ShopRuger.com, talking to the sweet young southern girl that answers the phone, you know, Jane. I said "Hey Jane, just out of curiosity do you have any idea when you guys are going to make some .45 Vaquero convertibles?" She said hold on a minute. Me thinking she just needed to put me on hold. Jane came back on and said " Well Stephen, today is your lucky day. We just finished a big run of Vaqueros and I can have one shipped down to your favorite FFL tomorrow in your name."
Then Jane said "You won't believe this but we also just finished a run on the Marlins in .45 Long Colt and can do consecutive serial numbers. We have the Vaqueros in all barrel lengths, stainless, blued or case hardened. Plus we can put on just about any grip you want. We can also do that Longhorn one you were looking at online yesterday."
I was like whaaaaaaaaaa?
Just then I woke up to my wife kicking me saying I was giggling out loud in my sleep. ****

SON OF A B! :neener:

I pretty much fulfilled my Ruger 45 Colt revolver desires between 2015 and 2017. I have a 7-3/8" Blackhawk that started life as a Bisley model and now sports a Blackhawk frame, a 4-5/8" Blackhawk, and a 4" Redhawk.

Also, I have a trio of S&W Model 25-5's in 4", 6", and 8-3/8" barrels. All were made within a year or two fo each other. The 6" model was purchased new back in the day.

I also have a few 45 ACP revolvers, but none are Blackhawk convertibles. All are S&W 625, 22, or 25-2 models.

Until things improved, I'll let others get the few revolvers that come off the production lines these days and wait for more furtile times.

Well, if you didn’t head over to SW the other day, maybe this’ll get you up and over there ;).

I bought it a couple of weeks ago, $219.00 on the tag. I couldn’t say no to that.

It is a cool little gun, I think you’ll like one.

Stay safe.

I monitor the “New Arrivals,” page, at the web site of one LGS. They list the occasional pre-owned .45 Blackhawk. Emphasis on “occasional.” They usually sell quickly. I rarely drive there, to take a look, anymore, now that I am trying to become accustomed to a smaller income, as a retiree, who has yet to decide upon a second career. The RBH most likely to cause me to fire-up a credit card would be one of the few, rare Bisley Hunters, chambered in .45 Colt. (I never look at Gun Broker, anymore, as I prefer to handle before buying, plus, there is that desire to spend less money, going forward, so, best to minimize temptation.)

Thus far, the only .45 Colt BH that I have is one of that first run of 5.5” stainless convertible Bisleys, with the extra .45 ACP cylinder, and that very slight blemish on the barrel, where the barrel wrench was improbably padded, during assembly. (I do not mind the blemish.) It is one of those never-to-be-sold/traded handguns, that will be with be until I reach my expiration date, unless I decide to preemptively pass it to a son or grandson. (I also have a “Flat Top” New Model BH convertible, but it is 9mm/.357 Mag, largely acquired because 9mm ammo is more abundant, and less costly.]
