Atheris Rifle Company

Hello...
I have an opportunity to purchase an Atheris AR-15 with a stainless steel barrel chambered in. 223 Wylde. The guy offering it is a friend who hasn't had it long and is not the original owner.
I shot it with him last weekend and it was very nice.
I can't find much about the company online other than complaints they take a long time to fill orders.
Anyone know anything about them?

Other than the price, that’s all you really need to know. :thumbup:

Reasonably well received rifles, if bog standard. As you know the rifle’s been through a few owners, don’t be paying retail prices for a commodity AR.

Thanks for the response. He let me take it apart and it looks brand new. It's cerakoted. When I pull the charging handle it feels like butter.
Just on the fence because I just put together another a month or so ago.
My kids like the one I just put together, so I was kind of thinking this (or the one I put together) might be good for them to share. They have been bitten by the AR bug. Both have birthdays coming up.

Use your judgement. I’d say as long as everything works correctly, it shoots well & you’re getting a good deal, sure. Can you post a pic? I can tell you some of the parts with fairly detailed pic.

I can tell you a little about Atheris. They are one of the countless companies that jumped in the AR game, a little too late as far as I’m concerned. They use some quality parts, but honestly, I think they charge a bit too much brand new. Maybe not though. One other thing, their logo bears an uncanny resemblance to Aero’s logo, who has been in the game FAR longer than Atheris. I can’t help but think that was a thought out decision. Could be wrong. Judge for yourself.

I decided to pass. I'm going to slowly put together another. LGS owner told me he is going to have some after Thanksgiving Sales. He specifically mentioned Bravo Company complete lowers.
I'll just put together another. The kiddos can use mine and the 10/22. Thanks everyone for your help.
