Whoo-hoo, they are not extinct

Lemme guess...$999.99...not including title, taxes, destination charges, floormats or undercoating. Payable over 36 months with a down payment of 15%... for employees only.o_O

oops...only $700? I've been wrong before.

Went to the gun show today. Walked around the place 3 time. Amongst the tactical rifles & shotguns, black plastic pistols and some stainless/nickel revolvers most all of them 3" or less barrels I did manage to find 4 or 5 blued revolvers. All of then Taurus or Heritage. That was it.

I wonder about Ruger No. 1. When I decide to get one, I'm perfectly content buying an older one being resold, but based on what I've seen for years now, I wonder if they've been discontinued. Even in 2019, the only things I was seeing listed appeared to be production from several years earlier (NOS).

I saw two of them (blued and stainless .357s with the 4.62" barrel), a little over three weeks ago at the LGS.

They were both gone when I stopped by there a few days later...

As far as I know they are doing limited runs as distributor exclusive to Talo or Lipseys in one specific caliber each year. If you want a specific caliber in a new rifle, you just have to wait however many years until that option is run again. And whoo boy are they expensive now.

Edit: looks like they might have changed that, Ruger currently has three different options available through Lipseys...257wby, 7x57, and 6.5cm.

Those three have been there since 2018 and I haven't seen them in stock since 2019. It was neat when Lipseys was ordering up a special configuration almost every year, but it's been about 5 years now and nothing new, neither have I seen any retailer list a new one in stock for 3 years now.

My LGS / Range has a few new Ruger DA revolvers now. 2 Redhawk Alaskans, a couple GP100s and an SP101. No Blackhawks yet. I am going there Monday. I will look again and report.

In the past they seemed to change calibers every year. But those calibers you mentioned have been on their site for 2+ years. I wonder if they are not in current production.

Reporting back:

Went to my LGS / indoor range today.
They have a stainless Ruger Blackhawk .357 6.5” Bbl for $799.
They have a Super Redhawk .44 Magnum 7.5” Bbl for $1099.
The 2 Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskans 1 - 480 Ruger & 1 - .44 Magnum are $1099 each.
