Has anyone ever trained here (www.stormmountain.com)?

It is a reasonable distance from my home, has the kind of training I am interested in, and the price/training time looks good. Regretfully, the site has not been updated in over two years so I am wondering if they are even in operation anymore. I put in a feeler email but have not had a response yet.

Ultimately, I am thinking of taking classes there next year but am looking for further information.

Thanks.

No, but it would be fair to contact via email and ask for more info from them, and if they've ever been covered by the media (gun rag, local paper, anything). At the very list this opens up the possibility of an outside review.

Don't know if they still op. or not?

Been taking Courses & Seminars here since '89.

Chuck Taylor teaches there 2-3 times per season plus monthly Handgun Clinics, etc. Have a good few form PA frequently attending.

As of last May they were around

I think they are still around. IIRC they moved some machine gun shoot from PA to Storm Mountain. I had a conflick and couldn't go but thought I might make it next year.

I've taken Hangun II and III, High-Risk Personnel, Rifle I, and Urban Sniper (not offered on the web site). I heartily recommend the school. You will learn to shoot in all kinds of weather and all conditions.

I thought that the WV Class III shoot was held somewhere west of SMTC, off of I-79?

I used standard 9mm FMJ for my classes... except the night shoot, where my husband and I brought in some .44 mag hand-loads so we could get pictures of the muzzle flash (we cleared it beforehand w/ the range owner).

The frangible ammo requirement must have been instituted since my class last year.

It seems like 800 rounds of frangible ammo would be very expensive. I'll have to follow up with the school. Thanks for the info.
