Does anyone know of one for sale or a good place to look for one? I picked up a nice 6" for cheap but hate the longer barrel. I've tried searching the web with no results. TIA

I dont know. I didnt think it would be this hard to find a barrel. Parts for these things seem to be hard to come by. Even S&W doesnt list one.

Thanks for the link Guy. I had looked there and didnt turn anything up with the search. I got the 28 a number of years back for $100 off a boy at work who was going through a divorce. Its in like new shape and I couldnt turn it down, even with the 6" barrel. If I dont turn anything else up, I may take that one. Either that or just sell the 6" and pick one up in 4". Thanks again for your help.

I've got a five-inch model 28 barrel you can have for $35.

I bought it for my model 27. I couldn't find a five-inch model 27 barrel, so I settled for a model 28 barrel. It shot well, but I didn't care for the look and feel of it, and ended up having the Clark bull barrel put back on, then cut down to reduce the weight. It's now as accurate a gun as my best Python, although the trigger is still a Smith & Wesson.

The model 28 barrel set me back $100. It's just taking up space in my barrels box. The original 8.375-inch model 27 barrel is right beside it if anyone has a use for it. The latter had a corrosion spot caused by a carless thumb print.

I dug through some of our spare parts drawers . Found a nice 4" barrel about 97-98% condition , mint bore for $75 shipped .
