Wow , mentioning a bullet sale in a reloading forum is Spam ? Even if it is his first post I think it's a legit heads up. It's not like he's hocking his own wares , Penn Bullets is a long established supplier of high quality hard cast bullets , I've probably bought over 25,000 myself and for friends in the last few years.

I'll be a little blunter than caseydog - Travis Two joins and tries to give a heads-up on a good bullet deal to reloaders in the reloading forum of all places, not all over the board. Yet the first three responders belittle him by the cry of "spam" and calling his post "drivel". Not a very friendly greeting from you three, in fact it's shameful.

Travis Two, welcome to THR. Please don't think this reception is normal for the general THR population, it's not.
 
Holy moly - seems ''jumping to conclusions'' is THR policy! It ain't.

I agree with Ray and Mal - heck, give the guy a chance.

I know I for one am always glad to know of a good deal when it's around - all too often I miss them.
 
That is a good deal. We sell them for 20.00 per box of 500 everyday but freight is on top of that. 2000 would be 89.90 insured and delivered. So IMHO that's a good price from Penn.

And welcome to the board Travis Two.
 
Even if he is a representative of the company he is citing how what exactly is the problem? Since when do we have rules against retailors offering their goods to THR members?

If he's working for Penn we should cry foul. If not I see nothing wrong with his post. I never pushed my goods on this site because I've never paid for advertisement and offered the prices only to compare the deal. I like it when someone shouts, "see the deal."
 
I just went to the Penn site and I'm impressed. The guy seems to know his stuff with cast bullets and seems to respond to customers problems. He also has picked up on the USPS $7.70 flat rate Priority Mail and will ship you up to 70 pounds of bullets for only $7.70 with no extra fees. Do you hear that Midway??? :neener:

C_Yeager - just a mention here that - as you may have seen now and again, we get new members joining who do actually come in to spam with links to stuff which is nothing relevant to THR. Stuff like - ''go to super deals at diapersRus.com !!! :)

Usually we spot those pretty quick, thx to maybe member's letting us know - I think because of those there might be a tendency to jump all over something that superficially looks similar, except here the subject was highly relevant to us.
 
Found this thread after he closed for the day. I intend to buy 4K if he thinks these will work well in my S+W 1911. I hope they'll work because it sounds like a good deal.
 
As usual I will cut off my nose to spite my face and stand by my earlier post. "Hello, my name is----- and I'm selling...." Yup... that impresses me. Can't turn on a TV, open a news paper, listen to the radio, drive down a road, take a leak in the bushes or turn on your computer without getting advertizing...I even get ads at work.....I recieved a newspaper type ad for Saddle leather today at work and we don't make saddles. Just oil spill recovery and cleanup on the water :scrutiny:

However if this person is not affiliated with that company and just wants to be helpful.......Please try again... :cool:

Bob from Penn Bullets called me back tonight around 8:00 EST. Three hours after he closed. He took the time to answer my inexperienced questions which I thought was beyond the call of duty. We talked for quite a while. Seems like a stand up kind of guy. I ordered 4K and he said it should take a little over a week. Thank You Travis Two for the info. :)
 
I can't believe my eyes :eek: I was hood-winked :scrutiny:

Yesterday was no different than any other day, eat my Wheaties, fill the tumbler and check out the Reloading forum at THR.

Everything looked great, info abound to help those among us with dire circumstances or great triumphs in reloading.

Then... I spy a post by TWO, not ONE.. but TWO members who have much more experience than myself. As you *all* know, I take counsel from the THR members with much more worldly savvy. Bushmaster and scubie02, have both taken the role of hero/mentor to me, so NATURALLY I stood up and was a good soldier, all for one, one for all in the fight against SPAM.

I took for granted that my elder :D members had taken time to verify that this was certainly a full blown attack. I was SURE we had incoming. No other rational choice but to lock and load. I'm sure you all can understand. :uhoh:

Now that I see this was simply a drill, I am simply aghast. :(

Travis, welcome to the board. Thanks for the heads up... I just KNEW something wasn't right, but can anyone blame me ? What was I to do ?

To help make amends, I took it upon myself to check out the alledgedly nefarious link. I have done my best, I made a peace offering to the referenced purveyor - 4k on order, just to show I've learned my lesson about such things.

P.S. I didn't inhale :cool:

Now Bushmaster & the rest of you guys don't get to feeling bad. I tried to run a dog off once and he ended up being one of the best I've had.

I will agree, advertisement is every where. 'bout gottem broke from calling here though. HEE HEE
 
wow, I was actually thinking of my post as a sort of smart-alecky "wink, wink" sort of post, but I guess my little winking smiley face could be taken as "jumping all over somebody" if you tried hard enough... :confused:
 
Bigslick...I bet frozen butter melts instantaniously on your tongue... :D

LAH...And I used a wax bullet on MY neighbor's dog. Teach him to not crap in my yard... :D
