Boys playing with dolls is part of the 'kinder, gentler' male thing.
GI Joe isn't a Doll, it's an Action Figure.:D
Somehow I can't see Barbie having that much firepower.:D

That's because Ken is a liberal pansy who would faint at the sight of a firearm. I'm sure she has her own color-coordinated AR-15 kept inside her trunk.

*LOW ROAD COMMENT REGARDING BARBIE'S GUNS OMITTED FOR ART'S GRAMMAW*

Could be a Tavor - someone who likes guns did this guys stuff! Nice job! My 5 year old just saw this...i am in trouble. Now he wants this AND the remote control Panzer IVH at WalMart!

Well that one is a doll, but my GI Joes were action figures. You can't twist a doll up for 5 minutes straight, let him go and watch him spin around in the air and on the floor. That is action to me!

I had quite the GI Joe arsenal, but none were as cool as this latest set.

"...Action Figure..." Is a marketing term for "Dolls for boys'. When G.I. Joe first came out in the 60's they were marketed as dolls for boys. Low sales, of course. Call the doll an 'action figure' add a slick marketing campaign and you have boys playing with dolls.
In any case, in the 60's, us boys played with toy guns and other weapons. Like the Johnny Seven, plastic bullet firing, realistic, Win 94's, plastic rocket firing bazooka's and Secret Sam's. We even had cap firing guns. If we didn't have a plastic firearm a stick would do. We made bows and arrows out of whatever tree branch was available too.

When I was a little kid a lot of that stuff was called military surplus, the firearms actually propelled something, and gunfire or explosions were made with caps. We were the action figures. :D

I wish someone had made 1/18 scale gun racks... or had simplified plans shrunk down for 1/18 scale... I wish they had made some of those new weapon packs back in the mid 80s, too...

I wonder if his code name is "Pack Mule"? :D

If someone should happen to have those plans, I bet there are quite a few people who could use them.......

i think i understand all the other stuff but what's so "tactical" or "action" about the trash can? seems like it belongs with the "extra duty" gi joe. comes with cammoflaged broom and "action can".
