SIG joins the bandwagon for...

I've got a GSR, one of the early ones. (Low serial number.) While a number of the early ones had problems, SIG put a concerted effort into getting them right, and as far as I know, they did get them right.

Mine has been trouble free, has a great trigger, is accurate, and one of my favorite guns. I don't like the rail.

I've had a P-239, two P-220s, and P-210-6. I've also had a couple of custom 1911s, and have shot a bunch of Wilsons. I like this one best.

Anybody know if the Compacts/CCOs will fit in a normal holster? I've been reading about problems do to the different slide

You know I have to take a picture of my new P220ST in full jam mode, so I can post it everytime someone posts about how much more reliable a P220 is than a 1911.

I have a Keltec P-32 that is much more reliable than my SIG P220 ST, and I would never consider carrying it.

As far as hell & Back goes, I agree with the Hell, but if you want to come back look for another gun other than a SIG.

I have 6 1911s and none of them jam, and they all worked right out of the box, Colt, Kimber, Springfield, all work. I Have one brand new p220 and it Jams and Jams and Jams, especially with ball ammo.

The next time someone posts about 1911s being jammamatics based on a sampling size of one (theirs), be sure to jump on the anti-1911 bandwagon just to be consistent. I mean, if you're going to condemn Sigs based on your pistol, you should be willing to condemn 1911s based on someone else's lemon.

I don't doubt that you have a problem child, and there are plenty of others I'm sure. But to go from the reputation that Sig has to your statement that

based on the single sample stretches one's credibility. I mean, your sample of 6 1911s is so miniscule as to be hilarious in the face of massive reports of 1911 issues.

Or is it possible that the reports of 1911 issues are as overblown as your report on Sig issues? That it's people having problems with lemons and condemning the entire line?

Then again, I have more Sigs than you have 1911s, and none of them (including my 220STs) demonstrate the issues you've encountered. If they did, I'd have them repaired and chalk it up to the combination of humans trying to make machinery work with the problems that often result. Just like when my Kimber Warrior had extraction problems right out of the box. I didn't come online and condemn all Kimbers are crap and/or junk.

MB, this is what, your 20th post about how much your 220 sucks? Yes, we realize. But there are about 500 other posters on here that have a reliable one. So I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you got a dud. It happens to every brand.

And for the record, I own/carry 1911s more than anything else.

There you go being rational and levelheaded again. Nobody is going to like you if you don't quit doing that. ;)

Jeez Guys, I have to file this away. 1911's OK to bash thousands of Times.

Glocks, OK to bash 10,000's of Times.

Sigs:eek: :uhoh: Dont ever say antything bad about them.

SIGophiles are at least 1000 times more sensitive than any other handgun owner.

:) :neener:

Locks...

They all have useless locks on the frame. Otherwise, I would have bought one by now.

Control.

I bought the Sig 220 Stainless Stock in Dec. '05. No troubles out of the box.

I bought the Springfield Black Stainless Target in Jan. '06. The extractor hook broke within the first few hundred rounds. I was disappointed. Sent it to Springfield, got it fixed and returned. Postage paid by the company both ways with four week turn around. I am satisfied. I would buy another Springer.

I think it's only fair when we report problems with guns/manufacturers that we report what happened, what we did, what they did, how much it cost, how long it took and how or if the problem was resolved.

I'm not any more sensitive to a reported problem with Sigs than I am to a reported problem with CZ, BHP, Glock, Springfield Armory or S&W. I own pistols from all lf those manufacturers. These forums are great places to get unbiased reports on products from actual consumers. Some of them are pretty knowledgable about fire arms. I'm not including myself in that group.

To answer the question as to whether Sig has worked out the problems or not, mine has been without a function fault and accurate as all get out for 900-some rounds now.

I have *zero* complaints about the gun.
