I have a blade tech, g-code, and a ky-tac for my 1911's.
Ky-tac hands down, no contest.
Theres usually a bit of a wait, though. An ipsc grand master makes them by hand, one by one.
www.kytac.com , I think it is. Hes well known around the practical shooting circles.

comp-tac. Do a search on comp-tac and then ky-tac. Compare and contrast. Uncle Mike's are cheap and functional. You can modify them to be decent but they just don't have the speed or fit of the thinner kydex holsters and they are bulkier.

What is the intended use? If you just want something for the range Uncle Mike's will do.

holster designs/FIST/plastic

I looked over a few of the websites, keep 'em comin' ;) .

I'm really looking for a high ride and/or FBI cant style that also has a "body shield" design. Something that allows easy one-handed re-holstering and/or can protect the weapon/rear sights from body sweat/clothing/etc. I see FIST can make custom type rigs but I never bought anything from them. I also saw Eagle Industries offers a holster that has a flat cover on the side.

There are alot of nice options out there depending on your personal firearm, mode of carry & plain old subjective criteria. I've got a few diff't ones but my fave is one that was given to me...I wish I new who made it...it's secure, well made, adjustable and has a leather lining in it to prevent scratching the firearm...
