Paddle holster w/out belt?

Looking for a concealment holster for LSW's Firestar M40. Hard enough to find holsters for discontinued pistols--actually there are several made for the Firestar M40--but it';smade worse by the fact that when LSW wears a belt it's usually more of a fashion statement than a hold-up-your-britches-and-whatever's-on-them deal. IOW, she needs a holster that will hold a pistol without needing a belt...

A shoulder holster is out, and there are times when she just doesn't want to carry that duffle bag she calls a purse... :evil:

Is it feasible to use a paddle holster without a belt? Seems it should be, but the writeups usually mention belts, and some are made w/belt loops. (I'm thinking here of the Kramer MSP.)

go to a store that stocks fobus and try some out till you find one that fits. i have worn the paddle w/o a belt many times and there is no slipage.

I have a Kramer MSP for my Glock 19/23 and a Fobus paddle for my S&W M38-2.

Both can be used quite successfullly without a belt. However, I don't recommend it. I've used both paddles during shooting classes -- with a belt -- and have had both come up out of my pants at least once.

If you must do so, use pants/jeans that closely fit your waistline. Better yet are those pants that have a strip of cloth/denim around the inside of the waistband.

I've used a Fobus like that (but BOY do I hate those things...)

I also have a G&G that works well. Never had a problem with either one coming up. I carry my 1911 this way quite often.

Well fitting clothes, the heavier the material the better, and I suppose your persoal build will all make a difference.

Try 'em and see what works

COHIBA: The problem is finding a Firestar paddle holster in stock. While they are made, they're special order items... (We are already planning on seeing if she can try one out with my 1911, I just wanted to know if they "without a belt" scenario would be feasible.)
I guess she may need to start wearing her skinny little fashion belts more often--they wouldn't provide any support, but should still help to hold the paddle in the waistband.

What about giving a bellyband a try?

Although I do prefer a nice fitted kydex holster for everyday, I do own a bellyband for new pistols or unique situations where a regular holster won't work, like wearing gym shorts to go for a quick jog around the park(yeah right, like my fat butt jogs

It's a walk, trust me).

steve brings up a good point.
i have bben wearing a galco underwrap about 3 days a week in the store w/ a procarry kimber. slacks and a tucked in golf shirt.
i have asked dozens of cops "how do you like this holster"
none have been able to pick up on it.
i have black and khaki in stock. they have dual leather holsters built in and even a spare mag and money slot. i am good for about 5-7 hours in one w/o any problem. 8+ and i start to sweat a bit, but hey this is SC.
