The Aksa Martyrs Brigades announced on Sunday that its members have succeeded in manufacturing chemical and biological weapons.

In a leaflet distributed in the Gaza Strip, the group, which belongs to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah Party, said the weapons were the result of a three-year effort.

According to the statement, the first of its kind, the group has managed to manufacture and develop at least 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons.

The group said its members would not hesitate to add the new weapons to Kassam rockets that are being fired at Israeli communities almost every day. It also threatened to use the weapons against IDF soldiers if Israel carried out its threats to invade the Gaza Strip.

"We want to tell [Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert and [Defense Minister Amir] Peretz that your threats don't frighten us," the leaflet said.

"We will surprise you with our new weapons the moment the first soldier sets foot in the Gaza Strip."

I don't know if Aksa Boy is just talking 'stuff' or not, but we *need* to get the hell out of there. It's not our fight and Israel can stand or fall on her own.
I don't want any of our folks there when the nukes start flying, and sooner or later they will. Best o' luck to Israel, but it's not our fight.

He might be blowin smoke but there is still alot of Iraqi stuff unaccounted for. Could be that he got a hold of some of it.

because the majority of the muslim world believes that the jewish people do not have the claim to the land they have their country (Israel).

many muslims claim that killing the jewish people = makes allah happy

you can put the rest together

Biker,
I'm not sure i follow how this would be a danger to our guys? I'm not aware of any deployment of our troops stationed to guard Israel? I believe the IDF is more than capable of handling any combination of arab states' armies, up to and including the use of WMD, and to the best of my knowledge i haven't heard about our guys being deployed to do the job for them.
I think if the nuke(s) started to fly, it'd all be over in a flash ( no pun intended, but what the heck...:) ) because the nuke(s) would only be going one way anyway.

That's Israel's problem, not ours. I've heard every argument that can be made concerning whether or not Israel has a right to exist in the ME and I'm not convinced on either side.
Bottom line? If they have a right to exist, they will. However, and I repeat myself, it's their fight. Just the way it is...

This is from Fatah? I thought they were the "Less bad guys", compared to the Hamas "really-truly bad guys". I don't see how this (MWD attack by Fatah) becomes a general war. Can someone PLAUSIBLY speculate how such a scenario might play out?

Its unfortunate that Israel is an ally.

Too bad we did not learn the lesson that foreign aid (free money from Uncle Sam) is a bad thing to get started on. Foreign aid is like welfare for countries.

What we should have been doing is instead of foreign aid, is we should have been doing foreign purchases. Like when we bought Alaska from Russia.

With the amount of money we have given out, we should have territories in Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Columbia, Mexico, etc. Them's a chunk of real estate we can use for bases as we see fit. And if our territories get attacked, we are fully justified in striking back, instead of being in the position that we have to strike back because they attacked an ally.

i know i'm probably really stepping in it here,but i can't resist.
biker you obviously have no great love of the israelis. though they're arguably the most persecuted people in history, pretty widely considered the planets' sharpest military and intelligence services, the only democratic and pro U.S. country in the region, you'd prefer we stand by and let them be attacked by a bunch of camel-dung eating idiots hell-bent on destroying much of the rest of the world !!!! OUT....standing !
and your comment, "if they have a right to exist, they will", really baffled me. i know we're supposed to attack the argument, no the individual, so i WON'T ask from what school of logic you graduated from.:neener: but seriously, the american indians had every right to be here, yet they were definately shown the door.
then when kingslayer asked why they'd want to start a war with israel, the country that's whipped the hell out of most everyone over there, several times, you reply "to drag us into it". you mean, the same US that's whipped the hell out of the best they got twice in the last 15 years? again, doesn't make alot of sense.

p.s. frohickey, i really liked your suggestion! trouble is, makes too much sense.

If in fact, these weapons do exist, this will, IMHO, quickly become a free world
problem. More of our standing army wareing a uniform (read baby blue helmet)
that they did not swear an oath to. Parts are falling together to form this
new world order, like it or not. If the U.N. gets its way, the people of this great country, the U.S.A., will be standing alone, unarmed and enslaved.

Hmmm...

Well, at some point, someone will have to put the kibosh on this whole threatening with WMD's thing.

These guys, Iran, and Kim Jong Il are probably the start of a trend, not the end of one, unless it becomes VERY clear that such threats are bad juju. Bad juju means that those who would make such threats think that making such threats will result in their being annihilated. They will believe this when they see it happen.

So who wants to make an example of themselves? Muammar al-Gaddafi sure wanted to make sure it wasn't him.

Will it be Il? The Ayatollah? The Palestinians?

I'm betting that the actual nation-states are posturing, stupidly perhaps, but posturing nevertheless.

The Palestinians, however, might be crazy enough to actually do this. Israel might actually turn ruthlessly aggressive, as they have before when they were backed into a corner.

Any other opinions?

If the U.N. gets its way, the people of this great country, the U.S.A., will be standing alone, unarmed and enslaved.

A sobering thought for those who think that voting Democrat is a good idea, or that voting for a hopeless third party can help right now...

The best thing that the Bush Administration has ever done or ever can do has a name: John Bolton. I'm not joking.

What would be going on at the UN right now if Kerry, or Gore, or Clinton were in office? What?

I don't know if Aksa Boy is just talking 'stuff' or not, but we *need* to get the hell out of there. It's not our fight and Israel can stand or fall on her own.

It actually IS our fight - indirectly. Lots of the worshippers of that *incitement to riot text edited*, Mohammed *more of the same* have a saying: First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people. Figure it out.

Bottom line is that they will be coming after us, sooner or later (of course, some of them ALREADY FREAKING DID COME AFTER US - DID YOU FORGET 9/11 SO SOON?). If the US fails to live up to solemn pledges given to its staunchest ally outside of England, how does that make us safer? Quite to the contrary, ESPECIALLY with the Arabs, such an act would confirm our weakness to them and invite an attack.

People like this, whether they are Arabs, Germans, Japanese, Russian or any other nationality or religion, are only deterred by the realistic threat of massive retaliation. Failing to back up friendly/allied nations destroys the credibility of any such threat. Abandoning Israel would only hasten an attack upon us, and is the worst imaginable policy (not to mention that the L-rd of Hosts probably wouldn't look so kindly upon it, but that's a different issue and thread).

If Fatah uses WMD on Israel there will be no reason for The United Staes to get involved other than to try and stop Israel from exterminating the Palestinians.

It will be a sad and tragic day for The United States should we ever turn our backs on Israel.

[...] whether or not Israel has a right to exist [...]
*snicker*

I doubt that there will not be a general war in the Middle East that does not involve the United States of America until such a time as we no longer have a pressing need for stability in the region. Say, the next fifty years at least.
If Fatah uses WMD on Israel there will be no reason for The United Staes to get involved other than to try and stop Israel from exterminating the Palestinians.
Very true.

We've spent the last few decades keeping Israel from fighting her own battles or helping us for the simple reason that one of the only unifying forces in the Middle East is the intense hatred of the Jews. If Israel fights, the whole region rushes to support the other side. Since we want allies other than Israel, we pay Tel Aviv to sit on their collective backside and to ignore it when little things like Scuds land in their back yard.

I Think

A whole lot of more people should wake up to the fact that this is really a global war against an ideology. Once the Islamic extremists are done with us, Israel, or whoever in whatever order they win, it's on to the next conquest... pure and simple. IMHO it is coming for us all regardless.

I don't buy it. This is either a false flag op by the Israelis to manipulate the West or (far more likely) creative storytelling on the part of Fatah in a misguided attempt to strengthen their hand. One of the most important skills that professional ME policy analysts have to develop is the ability to sift through the unparalleled amount of BS that the region produces.

My feeling is that if US intelligence sources considered this info credible it would have been reported on the front pages of the major American papers under headlines like "HOLY S**T--TERRORISTS DEVELOP NBCS. WORLD ENDING"

B.S.

I looked for this story all over the network evening broadcasts tonight plus CNN, FOX, MSN, etc. Not one word mentioned on any of them about what should have been the lead story or close to it. Whatever the 'source' for this story, it or they are full of sh*t.

there is a war brewing and reguardless of if it comes tomorrow or in a few months it will happen. Isreal has won enough wars without US forces being involved. Backing yes, but forces no. Isreal knows what it is doing and does it very well they don't really need us on the ground short of half the Muslim world coming into the fight.

Lou629 - US troops patrol the Sinai Border. They separate the Israelis from the Egyptians. In fact, a few months ago the 1st Battalion-114th Infantry Regiment of the New Jersey Army National Guard returned from a year there.

Israel is an ally and it will be our fight.....

'Scuse me exactly how is Israel our ally except on paper?

We give them everything they want weapons and technologywise.

We turn a blind eye to some of their actvities that are borderline criminal.

We can't use any of their troops or equipment in our current Iraqi adventure or even the legitimate action going on in Afghanistan.

We can't even use ammunition manufactured by Israeli companies under contract for our military in the the war zones. It has to be used domestically for training only.

We don't even trade with them that much and they have no natural resources of benefit to us.

What in the Hell are we getting in return for being "allies" except hate and discontent from other nations?:barf:

Why would we be willing to fight for an international welfare client, yet we would be willing to let countries like Taiwan twist in the wind when the big sticks come out?

And don't give me the "they are the only free country in the region" line because they aren't "free". They hover between socialisim and theocracy.

"We" fight for Israel. Nope. Not me. Let them stand or fall on their own.

Promised land my arse.

WT...

Can you cite a source for that info?
It's not that i'm looking for an argument, but i DO NOT remember seeing this in any mainstream media or on television news, ever. If it is a fact, i'd just like to see it cited from a mainstream source. The last i heard, Egypt & Israel had a signed peace treaty. Why would they need our troops between them?
