I went to my local big outdoors store in Maine this morning to trade some stuff in. I went over to the revolver case and my mouth almost dropped. They were real busy behind the counter as usual so I sort of hovered over the case. About 1/2 hour later I was holding a Colt Python. Ohhhhhhhhhhh it is sweet. As you can see from the pictures there is some slight holster wear around the muzzle and there is some light wear on the original grips. Serial number puts it as made in 1966. It was only $650!!!!!!!!!OMG I said to myself. Pictures are below and I will be taking it to the range this weekend. I think I did pretty good!:D :D

Cool

Sweet Pistol. I don't know values, but I know Pythons are legendary.

AWESOME!!! You should be able to trade that thing for a nice Smith and Wesson, with some shopping around. SORRY! Just kidding. Nice peice. My Dad had a nickel python when I was a kid. Have always loved them. I'd have jumped on it.

The trigger is sweet. Unlike my 686 it stacks up at the end of the pull, but it is smooth and sweet nonetheless.

Just curious, in that instance do you try and talk them down or just consider yourself lucky and pay what they're asking?

I have been researching Pythons for awhile now. I knew that $650 was a super deal. In the past year I have only seen one at the place I bought mine and that one was $950. The place I bought it will RARELY lower the price unless you buy ALOT of stuff from them. I feel confident I got a great deal. There are some Pythons on gunbroker, but I don't buy handguns that I can't fondle.

$65.00 with the stock grips is not only a good deal, it is a GREAT deal considering one in that shape should get about $850.00 to $1000.00 with stock grips. Go toi Ebay ans see what hey want just for the grips for a Python,,,,,usually they get up to $150.00...for the GRIPS!

Yes, I got it at KTP! :what: Can you believe that. It was on hold for 2 weeks. I guess the person who wanted it could not afford it? It just came off hold this morning and it was put in the revolver case. I got to KTP at 9am this morning and I am glad I did.

My God it is 40 years old can you trust it not to blow up in your hands? I will gladly take this dangerous dangerous weapon off your hands for what you paid.

Last year I found a pristine 4" Python in a pawn shop for $600. I bought it immediately. I was fondling it this afternoon, wondering if such a deal would ever be again. You got a great deal!

You've got a pretty good stack of congrats already, but I'll toss another one on.
