CZ SxS coach gun

Nice gun. I would have already bought one if it came in a 28" barrel option. I wanted to try a SxS on the trap range. I never saw one there and like the novelty of it. The 20 inch barrel might be a bit short for trap is my only hold up. I have found the Stoeger in 28" barrels. The Stoeger is not near the quality of the CZ in my opinion.

Yup. The Stoeger is about half the price so quality should certainly be less. Those exposed hammers are cool though.

Bought one from the factory last year. Had it set up with choke tubes because I'm a gamer even in Old Geezer With Guns games

No idea how it runs in competition (yet), but load drills work just fine and it is a decent hog gun

What will be your primary use for the shotgun?

If you are a CAS and wondering if it would also work for home defense I would think it would work pretty well but if the gun is just for home defense there are better, cheaper options out there. You can get a short barreled Mossberg (my choice) or Remington 870 for much cheaper. The short barrels can be changed out with a longer one for hunting or trap and skeet.

I know what you mean. I just picked up a 1950s Stevens 311 in 16 gauge because it felt so good in my hands.

That gun is overpriced.

Also, remember that the CZ SxS guns are now made in Turkey, and Turkish guns have a reputation for unreliability and mechanical failure.

You'd probably be better off buying an old Stevens 235. Heck of a lot cheaper, and at least as reliable.

It depends on what Turkish guns you are talking about. the 4K Kimber side by sides are made in Turkey.

That is a nice looking weapon.

Smith & Wesson shotguns are also built in Turkey.

If you like it, BUY it. I have a Remington Spartan and it's one of my better purchases, love that thing. Coach guns can perform many functions and they're just SO handy. I got mine without hammers. I really don't like hammers.

As to Turkish guns, the Yildiz sold at Academy stores has a good reputation and I've looked 'em over, very nice for a 400 dollar O/U. They're Turkish built, very nice and backed by Briley for warranty work. I'll buy Turkish, have no prejudice there. Like anything else, some may be better than others. Not all Turkish guns are built in the same factory.

I have a feeling that somewhere between May of 2007 and now, the OP has made a purchasing decision...
