Hello, now: yesterday I had just bought my monthy copy of Shooting Sports and whilst I was flicking through the pages,I came across an advert, displaying a Steyr Aug,straight-pull rifle, with a threaded-barrel and silencer. The retailer is The Sportsman Centre,in Dartmoor and they've got a limited stock of 100 AUGs,for sale this year.

Unbelieveable or what:It's like going back in a time warp to '87 and seeing a slr full-bore,before the ban in '89.Now folks the rumours of this variant is finally true and was advertised.I'll scan the page and post it soon.

Now can any UK shooter or anyone else, tell me if they've heard about this new little gem and if they will purchase one before stocks run out.Im sure that it will cost at least a £1000,or more for it.

I heard the rumours, I told people about it (on this very forum!) and no one ever believed me! A UK-legal Steyr Aug, who'd have thought?

I should think if there's only going to be 100 then it will be way over £1000 - if I remember rightly a straight-pull AR15 costs about £1500. I hear we've also got a straight-pull flat-top HBAR AR15 coming our way soon. Not sure if I'll be able to afford either one, time for a re-mortgage I think! :neener:

I believe it means that this weapon is not autoloading but is operated as a straight pull bolt action rifle in accordance with British law.

Ever used a Swiss K31 or a Steyr M95? Same thing. UK companies manufacture AR15 rifles with no gas tube and no dust cover. The bolt carrier also has an over-sized bolt handle added so that you don't need to use the awkwardly placed charging handle. Once you have fired a round, you yank back the bolt handle and let it snap forward, stripping off a round and chambering it. You can shoot almost as fast as if you were shooting a semi-auto.

Here's a piccie, notice the bolt handle:

Well believe me Fosbery,I didn't doubt you at all, because anything like this is possible.Did you see the advert too in Target Sports?Oh yes, thats right,it was featured in Target Sports and not in Shooting Sports.Oh,I usually buy them together along with AirGunner and AirGun World.Duh:eek::eek:

Here is the picture of the gun and the rifle is so new that The Sportsman Centre, haven't included it,in their tactical range of rifles.Still this gun was intended for hunters,pest-controllers and target-shooters alike.

So much for the 1988 Firearm Ammendment Act,that those ignorant, bunch of idiots,in my country-saw fit to inact..:neener::neener:This gun like the semi-auto version was used by such persons as I described before the ban,so now whats the difference?:neener::neener:

It seems that the pc is having a few problems,so I'll search the net for a picture of this rife, instead. This proves along with the ARs and AKs,that we can beat the system and laugh at them, under their very noses.

So, did the semi-semi-automatic HK's Foserby mentioned before materialize yet?

Iv'e heard that one wholesaler or one designated UK supplier sells them and I think that it was BoomStick that mentioned it,but I think that it was under the 'legal and Political' forum and it's closed for the time being,so I can't confirm this, for sure.

They like the Aug's will eventually surface up here in the UK,it just takes time like anything else.
